Traveling With Dress

Hi ladies! I was just curious how everyone is getting their wedding dress to their destination. I've heard that some people ship it and some take it as carry-on. I think I prefer the latter and might get my dad to bring it as he never has carry-on!

Also, do I need to buy a special protective bag for it, or is the one the store provides enough??

Any thoughts would be great!!

My TA has warned me not to ship anything to my resort. What happens if you ship it and it doesn't show up?

I'm bringing mine as a carry-on and the dress shop said it will be on a bust in a special garment bag so it should be ok. Just make sure the place you're getting it from will pack it for you so it doesn't get smushed!

Good Question! And should the bag be dark for any peeping Tom's?

Also, I ordered a breathable, colored garmet bag from eBay that worked great.

Hi, packing mine in a flight case that will fit into the overhead compartment on the plane.

I'm going to carry my dress on and ask the flight attendent to store it in the crew closet. I'm told it may or may not work so good thing my resort includes pressing the dress in my wedding package!!

Ladies you are allowed to bring your purse, a caryy on, and your dress (in a grment bag). Your wedding dress is the exception to the rule

i am carrying mine on the plane.

I plan on taking mine on the plane with me. I haven't heard of anyone having issues with doing so. I definitely wouldn't ship the dress unless I'm in the box with it lol.
