Past ROR Brides... Silly Question....

This may seem silly, but I have been reading that we should bring a magnet for the balcony doors at ROR to keep the air on. I recently bought small round magnets from Michaels and I was planning on putting those in the OOT bags. Does the magnet have to be a large one or can it be small? I know this may be a no brainer, but I want to make sure that I am giving my guests things that they can use!

The magnet we used was about the diameter of nickel. The surface area doesn't matter so much as the strength, a flimsy magnet won't likely work.

Did you put a card in with the magnet? And what did you put on the card for directions

Ours were little circles (probably dime size-ish) that we bought from Michael. We put them in a little plastic snack bag with a note saying to keep your room cool. And then a sentace explaining they can put it over the sensor on the balcony door frame when the door is open to keep the AC on.

Of note - you can hear a little click when you get it in the right place - and obviously can hear the AC still on. Plus I would add a note to consider taking it off when you are leaving the room - or provide multiple magnets - because several of our guests lost theirs when the maid closed teh balcony door and the magnet fell off.

if the magnet will hold a few pieces of paper to the refridgerator, it should keep the a/c on!

Anyone know if those VistaPrint magnets are strong enough?
