Budgets

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! I am only on the beginning stages of planning, but I just wanted to know approximately what kind of budget I need to plan my dream Cabo wedding. Of course, I realize total costs can completely vary depending on where and how many guests, etc. But I have been trying to price out venues and vendors and it seems to be much more expensive than I initially thought. I am working with about $12,000 for everything and am planning on 40-50 guests.

Hi J.

Like you said, it all depends... But with 12K, you can have an awesome wedding date.

We all know that Cabo is a hot spot, but still, with the right vendors you can have something extraordinary, gorgeous and, least but not important, unforgettable.

Best Wishes

It really helps if you're willing to do the legwork yourself. This site is a great resource for doing just that! If you go through a WC, they will many times upcharge you for the same exact items or services (usually without telling you). (Even though I have a provision in my contract with my WC that she will not upcharge me for anything without first telling me, I've caught her doing it on several occasions now. I haven't said anything to her about it, but you best believe it will be in my post-wedding review.) So my recommendation is to find your own vendors and work with them on pricing without your WC. If you do it for at least the big things, like flowers, you'll save a quite a bit. Good luck!

Dear bride,

Sounds like you've got enough for a really beautiful wedding, specially with the dollar-peso parity, it does help to have a strong dollar when you come down here, it's cheaper for you in some aspects. Look around the forum, you'll find lotsa good tips and help and if you have questions regarding any aspect or vendor, just holler and somebody will give ya specifics on any issue or doubt smile29.gif

Ours was $10 000 CAD (8000$ US) including travel. We came in right on budget and everything was perfect....our biggest expense was travel ($2500 CAD - we both got our first week paid for b/c we had so many people book with us) and photographer ($2100 CAD). Our ceremony cost and paperwork was about $2000 CAD. The rest was attire (dress $850, veil $60, shoes $80, his clothes $120)= $1100, rings $1400 and misc. expenses like invites, fans, guestbook, sandceremony, BM/groomsmen attire and gifts and welcome packs.

I was very aware of budget when planning and paid attention to sales. Good luck! You can have a fabulous wedding at any budget!

I agree with everyone on here. At first I started freaking out because I thought I was going to totally blow my budget but just do TONS of RESEARCH. If you are willing to do the leg work you can save tons of money. $12,000 should result in a gorgeous wedding!! Good Luck!
