Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort & Spa
Our checkin was quite hectic. We arrived with only 4 other people that required 2 rooms, one party was booked in the Punta Cana section and they waited at the Bavaro checkin with us to see if they could be placed near us. The gentleman that checked us in was so rude and just plain mean. He acted like he didn't know English but indeed he did, when I checked out he actually checked me out and his English was quite perfect. I have never been treated this way by a person representing a hotel never in my life. I travel weekly for my job and never have I experienced anything like this. Very condesending and just plain ingornat. As you will read further in my review, just this interacrtion with a Grand Palladium employee has swayed my opinion abuot Grand Palladium and I will never stay at a Grand Palladium resort again.
We are seasoned All Inclusive resort people and we have been to Mexico, Jamaica and Punta Cana last year. Last year was our first time in Punta Cana and we stayed at the Melia Caribe and loved the island so much, we decided to have our wedding in Punta Cana on this trip. I will tell you though that I liked the Melia resort much better, the grounds and gardens were a lot more beautiful and the people all around were much nicer and accomidating. We stayed in the Romanace Suite and to say the least, it was a little dated. It had an outside shower with a hammock in it, and I didn't really understand the purpose of it. The beaches are beautiful in Punta Cana and this is why we go there, pools were OK, but also dated, the tiles were dirty and not taken care of.
The food was excellent. I've never stayed at at resort where the food was so amazing. Normally when I go to an all inclusive I loose weight since I only eat fruit and vegtables, this was way different, and truly amazing. I couldn't believe how good the food was.
The most important part of our trip was our wedding. Kenia was our wedding coordinator at the resort and she was absolutly AMAZING. Wonderful girl and runs her butt off to make sure everything is perfect. HDC did our photography and I can't say enough about my pictures. I keep looking at them since they turned out so beautiful. Miljan did our shoot and we loved him so much we wanted to take him back to the United States, wonderful great man and good at what he does. We met Arnaud the owner of HDC a few days later when he brought our prints to the resort and just as nice, very accomidating and a A+++ vendor in my book. I would recommond HDC to anyone getting married in Punta Cana.
In the end, I wouldn't stay at a Grand Palladium again, due tot he way I was treated at the front desk, it hurt me that someone could be that rude to another human being. I find it very funny that a lot of front desk personal acted like they didn't speak English, but indeed they did, it's just false, fake and mis representation of their country and the Grand Palladium name.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions, I'm quite honest and I will answer any questions you have. Our photographer told us the Paradious Palam Real is a great resort, and we may try that next year.
