Zoetry Agua Punta Cana - Endless Privileges
My husband and I stayed at Zoetry Agua Punta Cana for our honeymoon May 12-19 2011. We were very excited to have some time to slow down and be by ourselves after our wedding with 15 guests the week before at Paradisus Punta Cana. The drive is about 1 hour from the airport and the last portion of road is a little bit bumpy and windy but was ok. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by front desk staff. The first thing we noticed was how quiet the resort was!! Check in was easy and the bartender brought us two ginger waters which were very refreshing and hit the spot. We were taken on a tour of the facilities and told all the opening and closing hours. We were then told because they do not have any check in or check out times that we were to have lunch at the Indigo restaurant and they would come and get us when the room was ready. Lunch was delicious and the service excellent, and when we were done, we were taken to our room and our bags were brought for us as well. The room was beautiful though they had given us a room with two queens instead of one king. I'm sure if we would have said something to the staff they would have accomodated us but it didn't matter to us that much and in the end, it was actually better to have two beds! Everywhere we went staff always said hello to us and the service at the restaurants and beach was very attentive and friendly. Everytime you went for a meal they would pull out the chair for you, place the napkin on your lap and ask if you would like still or sparkling water. Food was always delicious and looked beautiful. There was one restaurant open for breakfast, one for lunch and two for dinner and there was a total of 3 different restaurants on the property. Breakfast became a bit boring after a couple days as they had two very similar menus. Lunch also had two menus which we were always able to find something that we wanted, plus they always had a special. For dinner, they had two menus per restaurant plus a themed special so there was always something new to try! Juan was our favorite waiter, even though everyone was very friendly and helpful. Juan was more like a friend and brought us a bottle of rum the day we were leaving. He was such a sweet man and also brought me some cream for the many mosquito bites I received when I was there. The mosquitos were a big problem for a lot of people. The resort is located near a lot of standing water ie.perfect breeding grounds for mosquitos. They did spray pesticides on a couple occasions but I got eaten alive and had a couple sleepless nights because I was so itchy. I think this is the only drawback of this resort.
The beach was great, very private and would always be combed everyday. The water was very calm as there were many reefs that would break the waves. The reefs were very good for snorkelling and you could see something new everytime you went! Miguel manned the SeaPro shop where you could rent equipment and book excursions. He was another one of the staff that went above and beyond for us! We would take the kayak out daily and rent snorkel gear. He also took us out on the sailboat! We booked a scuba diving tour with him to Catalina Island and that was just great!
We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon, everything was perfect and we had a lot of stories to tell once we were home! If you are looking for a little R&R, you will find it at Zoetry!
