NOW Jade Riviera Cancun
I won't lie...I could make this a really looooong review but now that the wedding is over I can concentrate on this pregnancy.
I stayed at the hotel from Feb 15-25 and our wedding was on Feb 19. Our original room was the highest in Jr. Suites. I didn't upgrade as soon as I got there cause I actually forgot..lol It was fine because I had to meet with Ana the following day and she was able upgrade us to a Preferred Suite. I actually thought the view was better in our first room. When I meet with Ana she was extremely nice and helpful. I gave her my dress and veil along with the music for ceremony/reception. I went the divine Package but I didn't add anything extra because so many people backed out and I was so stressed by the most important people who were supposed to book first, booked about a week before we left. I did however, purchase the bows for the ceremony and I’m so happy I did!!!! The ceremony took place at the fountain area (extremely viewable but not many people actually go down to that area). The cocktail hour and reception took place at Mercure(Pure) restaurant.
I did a trial hair and make-up with Angel at the spa. He did a good job on my hair during the trial and didn't do any makeup. I was worried but he said he would make sure it was perfect. I bought some of my own makeup down with me because as most of you can see I am an ethnic bride so I wasn't sure if they would have right makeup for me. On the day of he did an awesome job with my makeup but I wasn't too happy with the hair only cause I hate for my hair to be stiff. I might have been a good thing in photos but in person yuck!
The ceremony was originally supposed to start at 6:30pm which was changed by Ana to 5:00pm because she said we wouldn't be able to get any good photos. After being there a couple more days we decided that was a good idea. Not only for photos but the bride..lol..was running a little late. The hotel's photog came to the room about 45 min before to take some getting ready shots which set me back just a little. But the major thing was they could not find my veil! I called Ana right away and she said she was going to call back. About 10-15min later she was knocking at the door. She didn't have it but she came in the room trying look for it. It kinda pissed me off cause the way she was looking was as if I didn't give it to her. She called back down to check again and they had it in a different room. My matron of honor helped me relax and get ready.
The ceremony was beautiful!!!! I didn't know what to expect. I had seen the partial set up on my way for my trial but once I came back down it was amazing!!!! Ana did a great job! Because I decided not to add so much of the extras they actually gave us a small sand ceremony bottle (very small..lol). It was totally fine because they gave us blue and white sand. The only thing was we couldn't really hear the officiant. Again...that was fine with me as long as I heard "do you.."
After the ceremony we did the photos on the grass and the beach. Vincent the hotel's photog, was funny and amazing!!! The pictures came out way better than I expected. Ana told me he was new and my wedding was his first at the hotel. That scared me!!! He came back to the hotel about 3 days after the wedding and showed me the slide show and all the pictures he edited. AMAZING job!!!! Here is the link to the slideshow. http://tiffanyandjasonnowjade.adventurephotosmx.com/ So for some of you brides who are really trying to have a wedding on a budget and don't want to spend the additional $2000 for a photographer, using this hotel's photog is the best idea!!!
The cocktail hour and reception was Mercure Restaurant. It was great because they closed out the restaurant just for us. The food for the cocktail hour was DELICIOUS!!!! I forgot what exactly I had on the menu but it was all good. I do remember the main course which was Steak, Shrimp and Mashed Potatoes. Awesome! I had my own music so I gave my 4 cd's to the dj and told him to just play it all. We were running a little late because I was late and pictures were late. We had a great great time! The cake...wasn't that good. It was pretty but just pretty.
After the wedding they brought the cake up to our room and the bed had the rose petals and the folded doves. And the tub on the balcony had the rose petals in there too. I wish I would have tested the water before I jumped in. lol But it was beautiful!
We decided to do our private dinner on the beach Tuesday night since our family was there to watch our son. It was really nice. A bit windy and the wind kept blowing out the tiki torches. But it was same dinner we had for the wedding which was good. We kinda felt bad for the waiter because he was literally running from the hotel to the beach with our food. We decided to skip dessert go back to our room but we gave the waiter a great tip.
I do believe that's it for the wedding review. (It literally took me about 2 months to finish this.lol) If there is anything you want to ask...ask away.
