Couples Tower Isle All Inclusive
We went to Couples Tower Isle for our honeymoon of 5 days after our we had our wedding and had stayed at the RIU Ocho Rios for 5 days. The resort is so much smaller than the one we had at the RIU. It was almost too small for my husband and I. We like a little more activity than they had here. The staff was great and very friendly.
Restaurants - You have to make reservations for the two ala carte restaurants at the guest services desk. We ate at both of them and the food was wonderful. I especially liked the setting of the Bayside where you are sitting on decks over the water. Very romantic. The buffet was good but not very large. The hamburger/jerk restaurant was great. We only ate there once and I wish we had more. The sweet potato chips are to die for with the smoked blue marlin dip! We had a beach buffet one night which was nice too.
Rooms - They were ok. Clean. The beds were very comfortable. The hallways were too much like a typical hallway that we'd have here in the states. At the RIU, we had an outdoor walkway outside our door which I loved! For some reason, this part bothered me after we had already seen the other at the RIU.
The bathrooms were pretty small compared to the RIU. We had no hot water to shower with the first 1 and 1/2 days we were there. This was probably what started things off on the wrong foot there for me. I don't typically complain about little things at a hotel but I began comparing and noticing things after the water incident.
Activities - It's great that there are so many included but the problem was that it was windy while we were there. We had scheduled to go snorkling two different times along with the glass bottom boat and they were all cancelled. Frustrating when you know you paid for things you couldn't utilize. I understand that is not the hotel's fault - it happens but frustrating non-the-less. We did the catamaran our last afternoon there as well as took a shuttle into town for shopping. That's about it though.
Beach - The beach is very small and rocky in the water. It drops off much quicker too. Not near as nice as the RIU beach.
Don't get me wrong. The place is beautiful and the staff is great but I'm not sure it's for us.
If you are looking for a smaller resort with "couples" only, then you will like this. It was too
"couple-ey" for us. (I know that's not a word).
I know this is sort of a comparison review but I at least have one to compare it too while I was there. I felt like we paid too much for Couples compared to the RIU.
