Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa All Inclusive
Overall the 10 days at the Dreams Los Cabos was AMAZING!!! I am so happy that we chose this resort and location for our wedding. I stayed at the Dreams back in 2007 and loved it so much that I knew I wanted to get married there.
Dreams Resort (A+): The resort overall is spectacular! All rooms are Ocean View! The hotel wasn’t over crowded at all which was so nice we didn’t have to fight for chairs by the pools or long waits at the restaurants. Unfortunately the beach at the resort is not swimmable but after doing my TTD at another calmer beach (which I still almost drown) I totally understand why it is that way! The waves were so intense they would jiggle our sliding glass doors at night – the first couple nights I’d wake up thinking somebody was trying to break in LOL!
Check-in (B): We had no problems at Check-in but it also wasn’t anything spectacular. Half of our group flew in with us and the other half came the next day. When you get out of the car they give you a cold washcloth with sunscreen on it for you to cool down with. Then you just tell the concierge your room number and they deliver your bags shortly after that. Once we got to our room and I discovered our “ocean view” was like a 2x2 view through the trees I was NOT impressed! After how much our trip cost and also our wedding on top of that I had expected to be set up in a room with a better view – not the room with the worst view in the resort! I went down to the front desk and explained to them that I had hoped for a better view specially after the amount of money spent and us being the bride & groom. The quickly upgraded us to an Ocean front honeymoon suite for FREE! I was very impressed and pleased with their service! Our new room was FANTASTIC! It had a living room, bedroom, walk-in closet & TWO lanai’s. We were on the ground floor so we were able to walk right out of sliding glass doors down onto the beach!
Weather (A++): The weather seriously could not have been any better the entire time we were there! Every day was an average for 86 degrees & sunny! It did get a little breezy in the evenings for about an hour to two hours right around dinner time which was a little tough since most of their restaurants are outside but nothing a light cardigan cant help with!
Food Overall (B): The resort has 5 restaurants and overall the food was ok. Nothing spectacular but not horrible either. The foods seem to be a little bland and we were definitely bored with all the restaurants after 10 days.
Himitsu: This is their Pan-Asian restaurant – we LOVED the food here but service was a little slow. 4 of us went to dinner here and it took about 2 hours but really it was worth it. They also had the best desserts here, we recommend the Tempura Ice Cream & the coconut soup.
Portofino: The Italian restaurant – we had dinner here once, the dress code is more formal so it was kind of fun to dress up to go to dinner. The food was pretty good but kind of bland and really small portions.
Seaside Grill: We ate here the most, it is located right by the main pool. We had breakfast buffet their nearly every morning, and this is also the restaurant that poolside service comes from. Their Chicken & Cheese quesadillas are so yummy! They also have lots of steak options for dinner which were all really great.
Oceana: This is the seafood restaurant – I’m not a seafood eater so we never ate here but other guests had great thing to say about it. No children under 12 are allowed there for dinner so it’s a nice place for a more romantic evening for people.
El Patio: The only time we are here was for our rehearsal dinner which was a tex-mex buffet with a burrito station. Everybody seemed to enjoy the food here
Room Service (C): I had to give it a C because most of the time it took 30-60 minutes to get our food and it was always cold by the time it got to our room. It was like they prepared it right when we called it in then let it sit until they deliver it. The actual room service staff was great though, always friendly and would call later to come pick up the dishes.
Pools (A+): Both pools are the resort are amazing! The main pool is definitely busier and has upbeat music playing. It also has a really fun waterslide! The quiet pool is definitely that – the quiet pool. It was really great because it wasn’t as busy and has a kids pool about 1 foot deep that is attached to it. They play softer quieter music so its great for those who want a calmer atmosphere.
Nightly Entertainment (A+): They have a different themed show every night hosted by the Entertainment staff. The shows were great and the entertainment staff is amazing! We all loved Johnny who took our group out for a Pub Crawl which was such a blast.
WC - Yarai (A): As most of us have experienced it sometimes can take awhile to get emails back from WC which wasn’t too big of a deal because every email I got answered all my questions and she was great to work with. She called us the day we checked in and set up to meet the next morning to go over wedding stuff. I packed everything for the wedding in a suitcase and just quickly showed her what everything was for and she had the suitcase picked up early Thursday morning for setup. When I showed up to the wedding I could not have been happier with how everything looked & turned out. The wedding was PERFECT thanks to Yarai and her staff! The only problem I experienced was when they returned the suitcase with all the wedding stuff everything was just shoved in it, all the linens were just wadded up and thrown in it and also we brought pink & orange lanterns that never came back with our wedding stuff and when I asked her about them she said she doesn’t know where they went so she’ll ship them to us if they find them.
Ceremony Location – Beach (A++): the beach ceremony was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I also love the wedding gazebo that the Dreams has but I didn’t go to Mexico to NOT get married on the beach. I’m so glad we went with the beach location, there were waves crashing as our backdrop it was like out of a movie!
Reception Location – Cascade Terrace (A++): I went back and forth between this location and the smaller reception location since we only had 20 guests going with us but I loved the idea of being right by the beach and the setup Yarai and her staff put together was amazing! The top level was where we have 3 tables & the sweetheart table then the bottom level was where the DJ and dance floor was set up. It was the perfect setup. Everybody loved it and many employees commented that it was one of the best weddings/parties they’ve had there!
All in all it was the best week of our lives. Choosing a destination wedding was the best decision we’ve ever made! It was so amazing being on vacation with our closest friends and family and also having our wedding in the most beautiful place ever. Both of us were so relaxed and were truly able to enjoy every minute of the wedding and the whole wedding week experience!
