Iberostar Rose Hall Suites All-Inclusive - Montego Bay Jamaica
I married my love at the Suites on March 23rd, 2011. We arrived on March 18th and most of our guests arrived in the next few days which was good because it gave us one night to relax just the two of us J
Check in/ Room (A-)- We arrived at the hotel at about 5pm, so our room was ready and waiting. Our travel agent had upgraded us to a ocean view suite (although I was hoping for overbooking and a upgrade to the grand lol) which was incredibly sweet of her! We weren’t greeted with any drinks but I guess if that’s the least of my troubles I can’t complain! There was a fruit plate and bottle of wine waiting in the room. The room was nice but it had a faint odor to it, my hubby didn’t notice anything so I let it go and by the next day I smelled nothing. The view was amazingly beautiful we could see the ocean as well as the pool area
Wedding Coordinator (B+) We had a meeting with Nicole the next day. I only have two complaints. 1) I had asked for a guitar for my father to use at the ceremony because he was going to sing and she had said no problem. When we got there it was a problem and he had no guitar. If we would have known he would have brought his own. He still sang but with no accompanimentL. 2) I had put in the details I wanted a videographer which we did NOT get! Thank GOD my brother in law had surprised me by saying he had bought a new video camera to tape the ceremony!
I would just suggest to make sure you have detailed list of what you want when you sit down with her and go through it carefully then there can’t be any miscommunication. I would have found my own guitar had a known but I suggest to all brides, since this was an out of the ordinary request, to try to get out of the norm request done on your own before hand so you don’t have any surprises.
Food (A)- We had the reception at the gourmet restaurant calabash which was amazing!!! The guests had there choice of all there entrees (fish, lamb, tenderloin). The food was soo good. The wedding cake was amazing as well! Since we had about 60 guest we had a three layer cake. Chocolate, rum cake and strawberry cheesecake mmmmm!
We tried almost every restaurant. Make sure to get to the Japanese in the beach resort if you can just for the experience. The cook the food infront of you and get all the guests involved while they do it! Lots of fun! We also enjoyed the steak house and the Mexican. The Mediterranean restaurant not so much. The buffet never disappointed they had a wide variety of things and fresh squeezed juices that were yummy!
Drinks (A+)- They had almost anything you could think of! I was trying new drinks pretty much all week and all were quite good! We paid for one hour international open bar for the cocktail hour and they gave us free open bar for the whole reception!
Service (A)- The hotel staff were sooo nice an accommodating. Since I had so much family staying there and a lot of requests and was at the desk everyday and we never had any issues.
Spa (B-)- The free couple massage was amazing, I was so relaxed. I give a B- only because I got a French manicure the day of wedding that chipped off before the night was over. Message and other spas services were amazing!! I wouldn’t suggest getting your nails done there if you can help it!
Make up (A++++) I was debating for the longest time if wanted to do my own makeup or use a makeupartist. In a few days before I left I decided I didn’t want to do my own so I did a search on face book and found Tamika nelson who was amazing. She did my sister and my makeup for $160!! If you do use her just make sure to get her there earlier. We were a little late because she was finishing up. But I can’t knock her because she came all the way from
