We hired Ivan from DJ Doremixx after reading numerous reviews on BDW and we would do it again in a heartbeat. 

Communication with him via email has been excellent since the first time we contacted him, and he made the trip all the way to Dreams Tulum from Cancun to meet with us the day before the wedding and go over everything. 

He had previously sent us a sample song list to be played at the wedding and it was great!  My husband is very picky about his music though, so we sent back a list of songs we would like to hear at the reception and Ivan quickly downloaded any songs he did not already have and was ready to play those for us.

I dont know much about sound equipment so I cant say too much about his, but the music sounded great even in our open air restaurant and carried well throughout the space we held our reception in.  He lent a wireless microphone to our MC for the night and worked with him to make sure the night went smoothly.

While everyone was dancing, Ivan's assistant would randomly bring through various goodies and pass them out to people -- balloons (the type you make balloon animals with), glow sticks and masks.  While we thought this would be cheesy when he first mentioned it, our guests absolutely loved it!  The balloons were probably the biggest hit of the evening.  Ivan also mentioned using cold fireworks, but I did not see these at our reception -- most likely due to how windy it was on the beach at night the week we were there.
