Jamaica Wedding Photos
When my wife and I were looking for photographers we really had no idea where to start. We were planning a wedding for a location we had never been before, and were really starting from scratch. The resort could have provided us with a list of vendors, but we did our own Google-ing and came across quite a few photographers. In our searches we found some with attractive pricing but poor photo quality, or good quality but high in price or lacking some of the features and extras such as the website, complimentary photo book, etc... When we found Jamaica Wedding Photos, we knew we had a winner. We contacted them via email and received a prompt response with detailed availability and pricing for the packages they offered. Here is a brief run-down of tha package we purchased, which I believe was the cheapest, and there were 2 other options that included longer photo shooting and video...
Package A - US$1300 (50% in advance via PayPal, 50% in person - American or Jamaican accepted - we did Traveler's Cheques which were also fine)
-3 hours photo time
-wedding website for 1 year
-online slideshow with music for 6 months (we ended up having 5 slideshows at no additional cost)
-CD of Photoshop edited, high-resolution images
-30-page (approx 130 photos) wedding photo album
Work for these guys begins well before the day of the wedding. They ask you for details leading up to your engagement and wedding to help build the website. The website has several pages for you to write "Your Story" as a couple, add wedding details, accommodations, RSVPs, and there's an online guestbook for people to leave messages. The website also includes pictures that you send to Devon to include as a mini-slideshow on the website pages.
Devon Shaw (the proprietor) and his assistant showed up on our wedding day EARLY and provided photo coverage from the minute they arrived, so we got bonus time and that was fantastic. He had a good feel for what looked good and worked with our wedding party to set up good shots around the resort. We did some poses, but he also did a very good job of just capturing the mood and everyone just being themselves, which we felt was very important. He took over 600 pictures in about 3.5 hours, and there was hardly a bad one in the bunch. He also did a lot of editing, picking certain ones to be soft color, black and white, sepia, and using filters to make some colors pop - truly amazing work.
Devon did not hesitate getting back to work after the wedding and had the slideshows up on our website within about 3 weeks (the same website as before, now with a new page of slideshows). He did a great job of picking out the best photos and setting them to good music choices that fit the mood of the wedding. After the slideshows Devon goes about setting up your wedding album, which again is about 30 pages, and he said on average includes 130 pictures. He offered to pick them out himself, but we preferred to select the pictures we liked for the photo book, so he sent them via Skype and we provided him with a list the next day. It's only been a few days since we sent him the list of pictures for the book, but I believe he said it will be about 2-3 weeks for us to receive them. We haven't seen the photo book yet, but we've seen the pictures online.
I cannot say enough how much of a pleasure it was to work with Devon and his team throughout the entire process. He has been nothing but pleasant and very easy to get a hold of. He has in fact called us and asked for our input more than we have called him! We simply cannot wait for the photo book, and highly recommend Devon Shaw and Jamaica Wedding Photos for whatever your needs may be!
