Check in: A+
The weather was cold, rainy and gloomy. I was not very happy about that. Check in was smooth and easy. We were both given a glass of wine and a cool towel. Everyone is familiar with the Palace resorts bracelets, vacation dollars and tours. If you have any specific questions, please PM me.
Venue: A+
After three days of depressing weather, our actual wedding day was absolutely beautiful. Sun Palace has a very beautiful beach and provided an exceptional private ceremony area. Being that it was adults only there was no children and a lot less crowded than probably the other resorts. My parents stayed here and they were thoroughly impressed and happy. We had to get guests passes and it was smooth and easy.
Wedding Coordinator: A+
Even before we arrived she was very attentive. She responded to my emails within a few hours (one day if it was a weekend). Any issue I had she assisted with getting them resolved and ensured that I would have everything I wanted. At our meeting she explained how everything would go and took the decorations and sand ceremony items. She went over and beyond what was required of her. She did things that she could have charged us for and not allowed us to do. The contract stimulates that you can only have 20% of guest use guest passes. Well she allowed us to use 3 guests’ passes. She also set up all the ceremony decorations we had brought down and decorated the ceremony area perfectly. She also brought my Dad a boutonniere and didn’t charge us for it. Our wedding was on the January 15 and we received our wedding DVD on Friday the 21st.
Spa: A+
I got my makeup done before the wedding. I was nervous that they wouldn’t have my shade, but it worked out perfectly. The makeup was very naturally and blew my husband away.
Brides Attire: A+
The dress was handcrafted my mother and the kanzashi flower in my hair was handcrafted by the bride. The shoes are from gojane.com and cost $25.00.
Grooms Attire: A+
Linen shirt was bought at Kukaluan Mall for $30.00 and the pants were purchased at K&G for 19.99.
Wedding package: A+
I added nothing. I used my vacation dollars to get the DVD. The flowers were perfect , I had a choice between lilies and roses of any combination of colors. Lilies are my favorite flower, so I was satisfied with these selections. The minister was lovely and she added on additional blessings to the ceremony.
Breakfast in bed: A+
Delicious! Paola provided a list of choices for our breakfast before we arrived.
Cake: B+
I’m a buttercream frosting girl, so I wasn’t into the fondant, but the cake was good and very moist. We ate on it till we left the resort.
Wedding dinner: A
We didn’t have a reception so our reserved dinner served as our “reception”. They set us up in a private area of the patio and provided us a bottle of champagne and a tequila toast.
Honeymooners Dinner: B
Not a lot of options, but they were able to customize a bit. My husband is a very picky eater, so he wasn’t too satisfied. We had Caribbean salad, Shrimp bisque, Surf and Turf and Torte.
Videographer: B
I used my vacation dollars for this and glad I did because it’s not worth the $500.00 price tag. It was only 20 minutes long and wasn’t the best clarity. I don’t know if the clarity was due to my laptop or what. I purchased this one to show my family members who could not make it to the wedding.
In conclusion, I had the exact wedding I wanted. I wanted it simple and budget friendly, with gorgeous pictures to go with it. I was happy with how everything turned out and most happy that I didn’t stress over trying to do too much.
