Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa All Inclusive
Wow – the week just flew by! All in all, everything was amazing and I’d recommend Dreams Los Cabos in a heartbeat.
Here is my review:
Dreams Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort – A+
If you had asked me when I first got there, I would not have given the resort this rating. During my previous stay in Cabo, I stayed at the Riu Palace which upon arrival looks extremely grand and luxurious. I didn’t get that feeling with Dreams. It’s a bit of an older hotel and is certainly not grand (at least not the lobby), but it is still very nice and everything else certainly makes up for it.
We had a few little hiccups during the week – there was a really big storm our first night there and the next morning we had no power and no water. The resort handled it amazingly well and still managed to serve a delicious breakfast by running on a generator. They had it fixed by the afternoon and all was well.
The biggest issue we had was with our room keys. It’s an electronic system like most are, but I would say for at least half the trip, our keys would stop working and we’d have to run back to the lobby to have them reprogram it. Twice, we encountered major problems with it, including on our wedding night. I was NOT happy at all, though they did send a maintenance guy right away. Another time it happened when I was about to go into town. I wanted to get into my room to change and grab my money, but, no luck. Luckily, I was with a big group so they paid my way for the shuttle and I didn’t find anything I wanted to buy. This happened to our other guests too. They complained and got things like free massages, bottles of champagne, etc. However, I just didn’t bother since we already had champagne and massages!
FOOD
The service and the food are impeccable!!! I really wish we didn’t slack on booking our second week, because I’d still be there right now eating everything in sight! I can’t say enough about it – it’s simply awesome!! Everything from the breakfast buffets, to Portofino (Italian) and Himatsu (Asian) …. It was all fabulous!
ROOM
We had a honeymoon suite (#2204) which was great – the best room I’ve ever stayed in. It had a kitchenette, dining room table, living room area, huge walk in closet, separate bedroom, big balcony, etc. The mini fridges (yes, we had 2!) were always fully stocked.
Room service is available 24 hours a day, which is super convenient! They were always really quick too. We always had our food within 20 minutes of ordering.
SPA
The spa was great, though the people who actually perform the services seemed to speak little English. This was never a problem though as the people who work at the front desk are fluent in English and could translate if needed. I had a Swedish massage (my first ever!) and I also had my hair and makeup done there for my TTD. I had to fix the makeup a little bit when I got back to the room, but no big deal. The base was done, which was what I needed! My hair was just straightened with some wave at the end, so not too much to worry about there. We even had two 25 minute massages left over when we checked out that we just never got a chance to use.
BARS
The bars close right at 11pm – lights out and all. The only one that stays open is Desires, which they call a club, but it’s more like a lively lounge. They do play the same playlist every single night, but we had fun regardless. And Pepe, the little server, is the best ever!!!
Excuse the way I look in this pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the end of the night! :)
WEDDING
I honestly wasn't sure how everything would come together. For months, I emailed back and forth with Mariana, my wedding coordinator from Dreams. She was very helpful and always had an answer to my questions. I am just so indecisive!!! Everything turned out perfect though, and I couldn't have asked for a better day. It ran so smoothly - all thanks to Mariana!
We had the Ultimate Package, which is the best one that Dreams offers. We still had to pay more on top of the $2760 though, in order to get what we wanted.
We were married at the gazebo by Reverend Marco Arechiga. He was awesome - our guests especially loved him and all his jokes! I can't complain about anything at our ceremony - except my veil falling out. That was annoying!
Our cocktail hour was at the Oceana Terrace, same as our reception. Though we didn't get to eat any of the apps because we were having pictures taken, everyone said how good they were!!! We also had a Mexican Trio and they were really good! Very lively! :)
I don't have any good pictures of the reception set up right now - I'll have to post them once I get some. Here are two blurry ones. We had 5 round tables set up at the Oceana Terrace for people to eat at. Each table had white linens and the chairs had navy blue chair ties. We had alternating centrepieces on each table - created by Florenta Flower Design. We had white hanging lanterns and lights underneath the tables. For music, we rented the speaker/iPod system instead of having a DJ ($350 extra to have at both the ceremony and reception). That was perfect for us, especially since our reception was fairly short.
We chose the tres leches cake and it was super delicious! I had taken cake boxes because I had a feeling everyone would be too stuffed from dinner and dessert to eat wedding cake. The waiters cut the cake and put it into the boxes for me at no extra charge.
I would recommend Dreams Los Cabos to anyone! It really was a fantastic wedding and trip!!! If you have chosen it as your wedding location, you will not be disappointed!
I will add my reviews for Florenta Flower Design, Neysa Berman, Rev. Marco Arechiga to the appropriate sections. They were all pretty much fabulous though!
Feel free to ask any questions at all and I will do my best to help you out! :)
