Finding the right photographer can be a very stressful moment. As I was browsing through websites and reviews, I found Shoebox matched our style and my vision and figured we'd see how they interact with us. Within hours of sending a request, Melinda contacted me and I fell in love :) She made me feel comfortable right from the start and I knew her and Rob would be perfect for us. We still had a couple of months to go before our big day, but I felt as though I could call or email Melinda any time. Upon arriving at our resort in January 2014, we sent an email with our room info to Mel and Rob and they arrived promptly the day of the wedding, at the promised time. We did not have to take care of anything, they simply set up in our dressing room and the show started right away. The one thing I really appreciated is that I never felt like I had to pose or be careful of how I was carrying myself. Melinda must have taken thousands of pictures throughout the day and selected all the good ones for us. The team was not intrusive, and just made us feel very comfortable. They were also able to make us laugh when things didn't necessarily go as plan (starting our first dance song over 3 times because there were no lyrics!). Mel and Rob were always taking pictures without us even realizing. And when it comes to the formal pics, just trust them. They know what will look good and what won't; but they are also very open-minded, which was great.
I am also extremely pleased that we did a Trash the Dress the very next day with them, at our resort. They once again made us feel at ease and our pictures are very intimate and beautiful.
Turnaround time was great, they sent us a sneak peak only a couple of days after we had returned and boy oh boy were we excited to see the rest. We got the online gallery a couple of weeks after and all the pictures were simply WONDERFUL. I feel as though I've never looked this beautiful in my life, and the pictures really captured the day, the fun we had, and the people we love.
I really really really enjoyed working with Mel and Rob and HIGHLY recommend you go with them; you will not regret it, I promise.
