Pros: Staff, Food, Drinks, Professionalism,
Cons: Spa is on the opposite side of Wild Orchid, not really a big deal

My husband and I went to this resort for our destination wedding. We were married December 7, 2013. I was a little nervous since there were not many reviews for the resort on this website. I was nervous about the food, set up, hair, make up, photographer, videographer, pretty much everything. Ladies, do not worry! They will take good care of you and help make the best wedding and best day of your life! Simone and Rocio were great. I e-mailed with them a few months before our arrival. They were very prompt to returning e-mails and very professional. At our pre-wedding meeting we met with Simone and Terrence, the minister who married us. It was so nice to finally meet Simone and put a face to the name. She was very professional, calm, and took care of everything. Terrence was very sweet and funny. Our ceremony was better than we could have imagined. There was a lot of laughing so we weren't nervous and no one cried! I brought a lot of decorations and made a lot of things for the wedding. I made my own seashell bouquet, place cards, program fans, center pieces, and Just Married signs, Mr. & Mrs. Shell decorations for our table. I gave everything to Simone and it was all taken care of. The food was fantastic! We had the buffet for 25 people. I wish I ate more of the food- I didn't get to eat much due to nerves, but everyone really enjoyed the food!

The photographer, Tony, and videographer, Oscar were great! They did such a good job. We loved all of the pictures Tony took and our video was so good and professional. They had music with the video of our choice. It is really good. It will be nice to watch the video at least once a year on our anniversary. Those guys did a great job, they will take good care of you and get good shots. Do not worry about hiring an outside photographer!

Evette did my hair and makeup. She is an excellent job! I was really happy with my hair and makeup. I brought a fake flower clip to put in my hair and it did not look right. Evette was really sweet and went outside and found beautiful, white flowers and put them in my hair.

The DJ- I think his name was DJ Blue was fantastic! We sent a list of songs that we wanted to have played at the reception and ALL of them were played. We were so happy that they were able to do this for us. Everyone was dancing, no one sat at their table, Everyone had a great time.

The waiters and waitress during the dinner were great. We had Calvin as our private waiter and he was great. He made us his own specialty drinks. He also took care of us and brought us our food. The bartender was also great. We all had a great time. I couldn't have asked for a better day and wedding. It was one of the best days of our lives.

We had the wedding at 4 PM. Since it would be dark we purchased 5 tiki torches. They also have portable lightposts set up, which also look nice.

You will not be disappointed in this place. We look forward to returning for our 1st anniversary! The staff, food, and people are all nice. The entertainment is also good. There was always something going on and something to do. Go to Secrets and get married!!! We stayed at Wild Orchid Preferred club. It was really nice and we were close to the restaurants. The only Con was that the spa was on the other side of the resort. Not really a big deal. After my sister and I had our hair and make up done we had to walk back to the other side--just a little sweaty, but no big deal. All of our guests stayed at the St. James side, which was a little more lively and loud.

Go to Secrets to get married! You will be happy you did! :)

Thank you so much for your review. I am getting married there in November. What did you end up doing for your centerpieces. Did you bring things with you? I am looking for ideas?
