I got married Nov 8 2013 at The Royal Playa Del Carmen. We had 80 guests.
We met the day before the wedding to set everything up. He had us fill out an itinerary. We had seen this cute idea on pinterest to have our guests request a song so we sent him that list. The day of the wedding, everything went wrong (though no one noticed and everyone was dancing and had a great time). He didn't announce my wedding party, he told my coordinator and photographer that he didnt have the schedule, and didn't set off the fireworks after our first dance. Now we are so easy going but I was really dissapointed. Not to mention our photographer didn't get the bouquet toss because the dj said "now bouquet toss" and nothing else. didn't ask the single ladies to stand, didn't dj at all during the reception really. I honestly could have done better with an iPod.
Furthermore, he did not play any dancing music until asked to by my wedding coordinator. We ended up only getting an hour or dance time in. He actually didn't adhere to the schedule until prompted by out coordinator for anything, the bouquet toss was late, the cake cutting, he played a song that we had learned a salsa dance routine (private lessons!) to during the first course!
I hope more people give accurate reviews of him because I saw a couple negative ones but saw so many positives that I didn't believe them. Now i regret it. Oh and they never respond to emails (neither hugo or lupita) until you straight up tell them "hey you are making me nervous and I might leave you". this is not supposed to be so stressful.
