Pros: Beach, DJ, reception

We got married at Dreams Tulum on June 15, 2013 at 5 pm.  We had 43 people who all stayed at the resort.  The wedding was truly the best part of the whole trip.  We purchased the Ultimate Dream package.  I did pay around $2,000 in extras, but it was in my budget.  My friend married us so I have no review on their officiant.  We rented to the sound system for the wedding, which if you are getting married on the beach I recommend. We put our songs on an iPhone and he didn't miss a beat with them.  We did not have a cocktail hour which was fine with everyone because they just went to the bar until the reception started at 7.  We used the mariachi band and loved them!  They played during dinner until the DJ started at 8.

Check-in: D I would say this was the biggest negative of the entire trip.  Almost all my family and friends had problems at check-in.  Most of them had twin beds instead of a king.

Food: B- The food at the wedding was the best I had at the resort.  We had the Gold menu with bruchsetta appetizer, asparagus salad and surf and turf with steak, shrimp and mashed potatoes.  I could have had a bigger portion of food, but the presentation was amazing.  We did not do a cake because I knew most of my guest would be fine with just the dessert included, which I didn't eat so I couldn't tell you if it was good or not.  Cake was not missed. The restaurants were spotty.  One night I had an amazing meal at the Italian restaurant and the last night it was awful.  My favorite restaurant was the Asian restaurant.

Venue: A+ We got married on the beach at 5 pm.  The worst part was the wind, but it helped to make it less hot.  The beach was absolutely beautiful!  I went very simply with all white chair covers and the back drop was so fabulous they didn't need any extra color.  We had the reception at the dolphin pool and it was perfect.  My mom and aunts were worried when they still saw people in the pool right before the ceremony, but it was cleared out by the time of the reception.  They dolphin pool is close to the ocean so we got a nice view.  And after the reception our whole wedding party jumped in the pool to cool off.

Photographer: B+ I hired an outside photographer for the wedding night so we used the hotel photographer at the rehearsal cocktail hour.  They did an awesome job.  They did very candid photos during the speeches and during the rehearsal.  I was sad I only got 50 of the 250 pictures he took.  The videographer did an amazing job and used all our music that we picked out from the wedding.  I just wish he had gotten some of the reception.

DJ:  A++  We used the Dreams DJ and he was amazing!  He had access to the Internet so every song that was requested he just pulled it off the Internet.  If there was a song no one was dancing to he faded out to another song.  We were on the dance floor the whole time.  I say dance floor loosely as I forwent the actual dance floor and it was fine without it.

Flowers:  B  Loved the flowers!  The flowers I wanted were not in season, but it was fine.  We asked the flowers on the canopy be moved to the table as centerpieces so I only had to purchase one extra centerpiece.  I few of my bridesmaids flowers did die a little too fast.

Overall the wedding was an A.  I do have to say I was a very relaxed bride and had few requests. I promise do not stress too much.  The ladies are professionals and they will plan your day as exactly as you envision it.  I was expecting some disappointment, but I had none.  It was perfect!
