My wife and I knew from the beginning of our engagement that we had our heart set on a destination wedding. We were very picky and very particular about where we wanted to have it since we had a huge wedding planned (over 300 invitees which ended up being 150 guests.) We did a lot of research and decided to have it in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. After visiting a few resorts in that area last year, we both knew the minute we saw the Banyan Tree that we had to have our wedding there....... and we are SO incredibly happy we did.

We are of east indian descent so in our culture, weddings are multi-day events. In total, we had 6 events planned - SIX! These included the cocktail welcome party, a sporting event for the gentleman, a ceremonial indian event for the women, the actual wedding ceremony, and receptions on two separate nights. We assumed the planning process was not going to be easy for us....... but we were wrong. Our wedding coordinator, Diana, was a god-send! She helped us throughout the process - making it an extraordinary event. It was a huge undertaking to say the least and it went without a hitch.

The Banyan Tree is known for their exquisite taste... in cuisine, in rooming arrangements, their venues, restaurants and overall flair..... but this place surpasses your most extravagant wants and needs. It's got a simple but extremely elegant style. Every single staff member we had the pleasure of meeting were so genuine and friendly. There honestly isnt one thing we could say we wanted to change about the entire process or our stay.

We would highly recommend this resort to any couple who wants to have an elegant destination wedding. There is not a chance in the world anyone could be disappointed with this place or people.
