Pros: Great for groups; excellent price-quality, ammenities for all ages; beautiful resort; great for weddings.
Cons: Disco closes at 2am; weddings can only be extended till midnight.

Overall Resort.- I am back from my April wedding @ NOW Larimar Punta Cana and I just HAD TO write a review.  My guests and I were so happy with everything at this resort. It is definitely upscale and friendly. The location is incredible; the hotel gardens are amazing, beautiful beach. A la carte restaurants are fine but the Carnival Buffet is superior, it gives so many options at a good quality, even better than other resorts that are more expensive. The best that NOW Larimar has is its friendly environment; all resort employees are very kind! Something really positive is that this resort is great for groups and families, everyday entertainment activities for all! Children and growns up. We all had so much fun.

We got preferred club upgrade and it was really worth it. Take it if you can. It gives very nice accommodations and upgraded services and exclusive spots in the resort.  The regular accommodations for Tropical View are also great.  My guests loved it! Just make sure you’re your travel agent that you are in the main buildings; there are new ones that are a little far from the beach.

Wedding @ NOW Larimar.-  This resort is a specialist in weddings! There were like 3 to 4 weddings every day.  I loved my wedding coordinator Francina, she took care of everything and did a great job. I hired the Divine Package and we were a group of 62 people from Bolivia. NOW has all the logistics to handle big groups. To all brides, be patient with the coordinators through the planning process, they might not answer the emails right away because they are VERY BUSY with all the wedding events but they will answer faster once your wedding date is closer.  Once you get there, you will get full attention and review detail by detail. I should advise to you, DO NOT overspend time in details, if you chose a destination wedding, enjoy your trip with your guests because time runs fast! April is a good month for weddings, the weather is pleasant, just be aware that it can get pretty windy if you are having an outside event.

My wedding ceremony was at the fountain at 4:30pm (excellent and private spot), I had a religious ceremony with Pastor Toribio in spanish, incredible ceremony, we loved it. I got my hair and make up done in the resort spa, I got so many compliments about it, and they did a good job!

The cocktail was at Carnival Terrace (appetizers and drinks were delicious according to my guests because I did not make it to the cocktail since we were have our beach pictures taken with HDC). Dinner Reception was at 7pm at Castaways. The sit down dinner was AMAZING, a LOT of food and really delicious. Everyone enjoyed it. The cake was tasty also, but after so much food, just a few guests had it.  We brought most of the décor items, but do not stress with it, the resort scenery is so great that you do not need too much to create a special environment. The reception ended at 10pm. I hired the sound system without DJ, we brought our own music. For our reception we were more focused in the food than dancing. We knew the party would be over early and as Bolivians we like to party hard, so we contracted an after-party event with a DJ and 4-hour open bar in Soles Chill Out Bar, right next to the resort. Contact Carlos and Taro and they can make a good package for your guests.

Everything turned out excellent, I highly recommend NOW Larimar for weddings, and also as a family and friends vacation spot!! We definitely want to come back!

Awesome review, thank you!  I put a deposit on May 22, 2014.  I'm a little concerned now because our beach ceremony would be at 6pm and the reception will be at the beach restaurant.  Do you by chance know if these are things that I can change when I get there?  I'm concerned that the reception will end by 9 like I have read other people saying.  But that's way too early given the hotel booked the ceremony for 6pm.  Any thoughts or incite would be appreciated.  Thank you!

You can change as long as the other places are not taken, and the resort always give you a 2nd. option in case of rain. Write an email to you coordinator, and you will be able to move it earlier, also save some time for the pictures! The reception can be up to 10pm.

Thanks so much!   I'm still waiting to see who my WC is as my travel agent has been handling everything!  I really appreciate you getting back to me.  I've been doing a little nuts trying to plan a wedding in a different country at a resort I have never been to!
