Breezes Grand Resort & Spa Negril All Inclusive
My now husband I got married at Breezes Grand on February 27, 2013. We had 13 members of our family join us and everyone had a great time! I was a little anxious prior to arriving in Jamaica, mainly just a result of not really knowing what to expect and having it all out of my control. I've learned that as stress free as a destination wedding can and should be, there is always going to be some anxiety when you are getting married! Tannif was our wedding coordinator, and Dainya our photographer. I'm not sure if you get a choice, but I would highly recommend working with both of these wonderful ladies if you have the option. They are both really great at what they do, and are both just really nice people.
We went with the free "Endless Love" package, and the Aqua theme. We were planning on choosing the Rock Bluff as our location, but after seeing the gazebo, that is what we chose. The view was incredible, it was relatively private, and it gave that magical feeling when you look out over the water. You can see the c/o beach from there, but it really wasn't an issue. You couldn't really even see anything unless you were really trying to see something! I did go with the smaller of the upgraded bouquets (which was $150 and totally worth it--it was beautiful!). The minister that they provided was also great, very funny and friendly. The ceremony was short and sweet, just how we wanted it.
After the ceremony, Dainya took a bunch of really great group shots of all of us. Just so you know, Breezes gives you a photographer who takes pictures throughout the ceremony and reception, even if you don't plan on buying the package. We weren't planning on buying the photo package, just because we thought it was a little pricey and we had a few family members who are pretty good with photography. Dainya did such a great job that we decided to buy the package after all. We had our ceremony at 4, which allowed for perfect timing for her to whisk us away during our cocktail party to get some great sunset shots. Another FYI--you can't see the sunset from the Breezes Resort beaches during the winter months, so she took us to Hedonism II, which is across the street, to get some beautiful sunset beach shots. We would have never been able to get these without her help, so we are really glad that she was our photographer.
We did purchase the cocktail party for after the ceremony. When we purchased this, we thought it was for 3 hours. That is not the case, if you get the cocktail party it is only 1 hour in length (just another FYI). The food was all really quite delicious--I think the crowd favorites were the lamb chops, rosemary shrimp, and duck spring rolls. Tannif also arranged for us all to eat at Piacere (the French restaurant) after the cocktail party. We probably would have preferred to just have a longer cocktail party, but at the same time it was nice to have a sit down dinner with our guests.
We woke up to our first morning as husband wife to breakfast in bed, with champagne, fresh fruit, and yogurt. It was really wonderful. We actually stayed at Breezes for 8 nights in total. We both can't wait to go back (whenever our bank account allows it!). Of the whole time I was there, the only complaint I had was that they need to upgrade the locks on their doors. We had to have ours fixed about 5 or more times. I was locked out of my room for over an hour while I was trying to get ready for my wedding, which was really stressful. It all worked out though, and it wound up not being a big deal. When you are in Jamaica, it's hard to get too stressed out, mon! If you are thinking about getting married there, I would really recommend it.
