Planning for a destination wedding can be difficult since you have to rely on others to make everything come together just the way you want it.  I had been waiting my entire life for the wedding ceremony of my dreams (I'm in my 40s) and the one thing that was very important to me was that I look as beautiful as possible on our special day, especially for our pictures.  Having read some rather disappointing reviews of our resort's salon and being less than skilled at doing hair and makeup, I was really uncertain that I would be able to achieve a pretty bridal look.  Fortunately I discovered this website and MVP Hair and Makeup Artistry. 

Working with Melissa and Edgar was so easy and I really felt a sense of relief after corresponding with them.  Edgar was very quick to respond to my emails and made recommendations as to what services I would need.  I was asked to send pictures of me and my hair and make-up ideas to them so that they would have an idea as to what I wanted.  Everything about the planning was very professional and I felt that I was sincerely a valued client.  I think this was the only aspect of our destination wedding that I felt confident about.

I did schedule a hair and makeup trial session with Melissa.  She came to my room at the resort 2 days prior to our wedding.  She looked at my wedding dress and asked how I envisioned looking.  I told her that pictures would be very important so I wanted to be sure my makeup would look great and last through the humid October Cancun weather.  She was able to put my short hair up into a side twist and made my makeup look natural and very pretty.  We made arrangements for her to arrive at my room on my wedding day with enough time for me to be ready for our noon ceremony.

The day of the ceremony arrived and the weather was not as cooperative as I had hoped.  It had been raining off and on all week and this particular morning was overcast and not very promising.  Melissa arrived at my room on time and she brought another woman with her who was going to do my mother-in-law's hair and makeup.  Melissa started by working with my teenaged daughter.  She made her look really pretty and my daughter wanted to take her home with us.  In fact, she still talks about how great Melissa was and how much she loved the way she looked.  When it was my turn, Melissa took her time and made sure that I looked amazing.  I felt like a beautiful bride, even at my age, and I couldn't wait to see my husband-to-be to see what he thought. 

As I said, the weather was humid but just as I was finishing getting ready for the ceremony, the sun came out and the sky and the water turned so blue.  As I walked down the beach to our ceremony, my son looked amazed at how my daughter and I looked (we have a picture of his eyes popping out!).  My husband thought I looked so beautiful that he actually cried!  The ceremony was quick and we were off to take pictures.  I have to say that even in the humidity, my hair and makeup didn't budge during this entire time.  I still looked fresh at our reception dinner later that evening.

  My pictures turned out beautifully and my friends and family back home said I was "stunning" and "beautiful".  I honestly felt stunning and beautiful and I would not have felt that way if it weren't for MVP!  I am certain of that.
