Patty Jordan was our travel agent for my Punta Cana destination wedding in February 2013.  I reached out to her through this website, and it was probably one of the best decisions I made!  So ladies, if you even think for one moment about NOT using a travel agent - think again. 

Just to get things out of the way - there were a few hiccups along the way - but Patty was so easy to talk to about them, never made excuses for anything and always corrected the issue immediately.  All issues were so minor in nature its only worth bringing up to commend her reaction to them.  

Patty ended up feeling more like family than anything else - and especially with everything that went down with our guests travel,  I cannot imagine what a nightmare it could have turned into without her in our corner. 

First the Majestic Elegance - *sigh* - out of all the planning decisions I made, the Majestic was the only thing I ever second guessed myself about - but they really were the only resort that allowed children but also had an Adults Only side that also would not break our guest's bank accounts.

From the beginning, when "interviewing" Patty - one of the reasons she said she uses the wholesaler "Travel Impressions" was because when all these resorts overbook (which they all do) - her clients NEVER get bumped to a different resort and actually get the room they paid for (or better).  And apparently this is normally the case - (I have spoken all the way up the food chain at the ME resort!)

We had 58.5 (1/2 is a 14 month year old lol) guests including ourselves.  Almost everyone booked on the Adult Only side of the resort.  We went Wed-Wed.  All guests arriving on Wednesday (about 12) were immediately ushered to their correct room.  Now Thursday? That is a different story - almost every single guest  (including my parents, guests that left their kids at home, etc) were bumped from their reserved Adult Only room to another room in the main section of the resort.  The way lower level management handled this was disgusting and we fully blame them for the screw up (as does their senior management)- but more on that on a separate ME review later.  To top that off - about 20+ guests had canceled flights - some were sent to an airport 2 hours away to cab it over, some were told to just sit tight and wait.  Since there is not wi-fi in the rooms - it was really difficult to figure this out and work with them.  And as Patty knows - my family and friends were the most important part of my wedding for me (well other than the groom!) - and she really stepped up for them.  This really was something that could have ruined this trip for me and everyone involved - Patty made sure that did not happen!

Regarding the rooms - Patty tried everything she could to get this rectified, and made sure that happened to NO other guests arriving later.  I know she sent countless emails (the staff said she was relentless and so worried and ALL upper management (and staff too!) knows Patty by name now!) and is still working on making sure all guests are compensated for their inconvenience. And I have 100% faith in her that she will handle it. 

Regarding the canceled flights and rerouted folks?  Patty was their hero.  And mine.  She worked with over 20 guests to make sure their transportation, hotel reservations and everything in between was taken care of (and did not even bug the bride!).  Each person that had trouble said that without Patty they would have been so stressed and had no clue what to do.  I am beyond thankful for Patty treating my guests like her own family.  

So in summary - thank you Patty!  Everything else went off without a hitch - we even had a romantic ride waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel!!  I could go on and on about everything that went perfect (because it did) - but what really sets apart Patty is how she stepped up when the unexpected happened.
