After much back and forth, we decided to use a travel agent. At first, we thought our guests would have been able to get a better deal themselves, by searching online. While this may or may not have been the case, for us, having a point person to keep track of all our guests' itineraries was one of the best decisions we made. In the end, our guests got a fair deal, and if they had waited too long to book on their own, they would have paid way more than what we all paid using a travel agent.

We found Patty Jordan and her colleague Kristen through this forum, and couldn't be happier with our decision. It took so much stress out of the planning, as I knew that Patty and Kristen were completely on top of things. They were the ones who reminded our guests of approaching deadlines, etc., so we didn't have to worry about a thing.

Patty communicated directly with the hotel, so we didn't have to.  She helped us set up our welcome dinner and post-wedding brunch at the hotel. None of our guests had any issues with ground transportation between the airport and hotel. And the best part was, she arranged for a special van for me and my husband both to and from the hotel.  We were greeted with fresh roses and a bottle of champagne (with glasses, so we could toast on the way to the hotel!).  We felt like royalty.

I also heard from many of my guests how helpful Patty was in their planning.  We are using Patty for our honeymoon as well, and will definitely contact her for any return trips to the DR.  Thank you!!
