NOW Larimar
Hey guys!!
So I just got back from my honeymoon on Saturday and my first advice to you is, don’t stress about it! I suggest you do your research and prepare as much as possible before you get there, but once you get there, just relax! They know what they’re doing and it will be absolutely beautiful! Everyone warned me that there’s always something that goes wrong at weddings, especially destination weddings. So I had told myself to not expect too much and to plan everything I could ahead of time! But everything was PERFECT!! Nothing went wrong and it was gorgeous!!
My guests and I absolutely loved the resort, we have no negative comments and we all want to go back. The rooms, the food, the location and the people were phenomenal :) My hubby and I were upgraded to Preferred Club!!
To anyone that is debating between Dreams Palm Beach and Now Larimar, I would strongly recommend getting married at Now Larimar without a doubt!!! I was really debating about these 2 resorts and picked Now Larimar since it was less expensive for me and my guests. My hubby and I decided to spend our Honeymoon at Dreams Palm Beach instead (so we did 9 days at Now and 5 days at DPB). When we got to DPB we were very disappointed. DPB was more expensive and better rated according to trip advisor, so we thought we were “upgrading” to a better resort. That was not the case. Overall we were just so thankful that we had our wedding at Now Larimar!! :)
Wedding @ Now :
Don’t expect too much at the wedding meeting when you get there. I expected to see all kinds of examples to choose from, and there was not much, just the pictures that we see online. So bring your own picture of what you want (cake, flowers, decoration…) and you’ll be fine! I had Luisa and she was amazing!! Always working hard and still at the computer when I would walk by around midnight!
Another tip is unless you REALLY want to get married at the beach, choose the fountain!!! MUCH more private and beautiful!! My friends/family and I pitied those getting married at the beach with ALL the onlookers… there is zero privacy and people are so disrespectful, they would all gather up all around without even considering that it’s a PRIVATE event and that they would be in the pictures, you literally have ppl you don’t know in bathing suits like right beside you! Not to mention some topless old ladies and men with speedos spotted right besides the first wedding I saw! :S It might depend on what time you have your ceremony, but I preferred the fountain!
I went to the spa for my hair and make-up and I LOVED it!! Make sure you bring pictures of what you want and they’ll do it! It obviously helped that I had my best friend who is a perfectionist and speech’s fluently Spanish with me the whole time! ;)
I used Pastor York for my ceremony and everyone loved him!! He is hilarious and definitely worth the $350 extra! The ceremony lasts about 20-30 minutes instead of 5-10 minutes with the WC. I thought it looked more legit, but if you want a short ceremony, go with the WC. And I used HDC for my photos and videos! They were amazing; Miljan (the photographer) was so nice and had great ideas for pictures… I got all my things 2 DAYS later!! All of my pictures and my 60 minute video all edited! My friends here in Canada are actually considering them for their weddings here since they are so GREAT!! Loved them! :)
I LOVED MY FLOWERS!! The ceremony at the fountain and the reception at the quiet pool were awesome! I had brought most of the decorations, but they were set up just as I envisioned it! The flowers were gorgeous!! We chose the Gold buffet and the Marble cake and it was delicious!! We had the resort DJ and MC and I gave them a list of songs and they did amazing!! We got the B package so we would get the nice purple lights at the reception! I initially wanted DJ Mannia, but they were more expensive with the vendor fee and since the reception was only 3 hours I didn’t think it was worth it!
Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions! :)
