My husband and I got engaged while vacationing in Playa del Carmen last year. I was lucky enough to see several wedding venues and Grand Coral was one of them. I instantly fell in love with Grand Coral!! After our vacation, I looked at several venues from my home town and where my husband and I currently live. Nothing stood out to me. I look back and realize its because I had already found the perfect location, I just hadn't really given much thought to a destination wedding. After talking it over with my husband, we both agreed that the only place we could see ourselves getting married is on the beach.

Grand Coral is everything we were looking for. Its a private beach club, so you wont have large crowds gathering to watch your ceremony.I cringed at the thought of large crowds of people, probably all in swimsuits, being in the background of all my pictures. So a private beach club was definitely high on my list of priorities.

Another top priority, food! I LOVE food! I consider myself a foodie at heart. I buffet was never an option. Luis, the chef, is AMAZING. I received sample menus and was able to tweak them to my liking. I also had a few vegetarians and a vegan I needed to accommodate. During the tasting, Luis blew my husband and I away with the menu he created for us. We originally picked 4 appetizers, but he made us more so the vegetarians/vegan had more to eat. Our dinner package included a cake and a dessert table. We had already picked a cake from a different vendor, so he gave us more sweets for the dessert table. We were married on Dia de Los Muertos, and he made small pan de muerto, which is a popular dessert for that time of year as an extra for us.

The staff was friendly and attentive. There was always someone attending to my husband and I, making sure we never went thirsty!

Furniture-The venue is a beach club during the day,  for weddings they put away all the beach chairs. I had to rent the tables, chairs, arch for the ceremony. They did allow us to use their couches, which was nice during the dancing because it gave them a place to sit and watch. The venue is very aesthetically pleasing. There is a pool that is surrounded by dark hardwood floors. All their furniture is white, so it just has a really clean look. You have the option of having dinner inside the restaurant or outside.

I just cant say enough about this venue. Its reasonably priced. The deposit I paid was put towards the final food bill. The location is completely customizable to you and your vision. We arent big resort type people and Grand Coral fit us perfectly! Our guests were so impressed with the location that my family is considering the venue for a retirement party!
