Gonzalo Nunez Photography
I was lucky to travel to Mexico last November for another friends wedding in the Cancun Area and got to meet Gonzalo in person before our wedding. Email communication before arrival was very prompt and he was more than happy to come to our resort to meet us. For me, this made me extremely comfortable and trusting with him and that he would deliver. I followed him on Facebook leading up until the wedding and could not wait to see what our pictures would turn out like. The day of our wedding, I was VERY nervous and was a little indecisive on what all we wanted. Our schedule was dictated by the resort and Gonzalo worked around us having a firm dinner reservation at a time I wanted sunset pictures. He also led the shoot with ideas he had which we were completely fine with. Our resort (Cancun Palace/Hard Rock Cancun) had a lot of construction going on but Gonzalo made the best of it. He was very focused and alert to any backdrop in or outside the hotel that would make for a good photo opportunity. During our wedding a huge black cloud started moving in with lightening and thunder but didn't start to rain until after our wedding. While we took pictures on the beach an unfortunate incident happened with one of my guests being injured and we stopped the session to make sure she was ok and regrouped. Gonzalo understood the severity and the emotions behind the incident and didn't push to jump back into pictures. Our cocktail reception had to be moved indoors and yet again, Gonzalo took advantage of the surroundings and pulled off some great shots. Sunset pictures were the last of our shots and after pouring rain, we were able to take some fabulous pictures.
My husband and I are far from models or know the first thing about posing or working the camera. Gonzalo's best advice was to "feel" during the shot and it would come through in the pictures. Of course he was right and none of the pictures looked phony or forced.
Gonzalo is a GREAT guy, very reasonably priced (in comparison to other area photographers with his talent) and patient. We are extremely happy with the pictures and are thankful for the memories relived every time we look at them.
