The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun
I seriously need to limit my words here because I could go on and on forever about how amazing this hotel is. I have stayed in many Ritz Carltons before but I must say that the Ritz Carlton Cancun takes the "never say no" policy to a whole new level.
My wedding coordinator at the Ritz, Williams, was the most accommodating and patient person I have ever met. He made planning the most important day of my life seem like a cake walk. I won't go so far as to call myself a bridezilla but I have to admit that I am quite demanding. Williams never even flinched when my desires may have seemed a little bit less than reasonable.
Many weddings, in my opinion, spend so much time on decor that they completely overlook the quality of the food they are serving their guests. That is why for us the meal was something we spent a lot of time carefully choosing. The Ritz Carlton Cancun has world class chefs and two five star restaurants on location. When we decided to serve a seven course menu to our 325 guests, the executive chef seemed excited instead of scared. When I expressed concern about the time frame that the meal be served in, they assured me all would go smoothly and swiftly. They defiantly kept their promise. Our guests were amazed with the quality of the food and the promptness of the service. Many of our guest told us it was the best meal they had ever had in their lives.
Even though I decided to hire outside vendors, the staff at the Ritz Carlton worked directly with them. They helped set up and perfect the venue. Williams went so far as to reprint the table numbers that our florist messed up. I realized an hour before I left for the church that our florist printed the table numbers written out in Spanish with no corresponding number. As almost half of the wedding guests don't speak Spanish, this could have been a HUGE disaster. Williams calmed me down and right before I left for the mass, he had already printed out matching table numbers WITH the number on them and a board map of where each table was for outside the ballroom.
Our entire stay at the hotel was full of surprises and even some wedding gifts on our wedding night. When I walked back in the hotel after the ceremony, Williams and some of the staff was there to greet us with the lobby pianist playing "Here Comes the Bride" and the staff and guests applauded us. After a beautiful ceremony it was that little touch that made me feel extra special.
I mentioned to Williams that two of our guests were from Japan and he had a Japanese staff member rewrite the Welcome Letter and Weekend Schedule in Japanese for them. They were so shocked and happy! They didn't only go out of their way to make us feel special, they also went out of their way to make our guests feel special.
I really need to start controlling myself now or I'm going to end up writing a novel. What I will say is that thanks to Rafael, Williams, and the whole Ritz carlton Cancun staff I got to feel like a BRIDE on my wedding. They took care of everything for me and made it the most beautiful and relaxing day of my life!!
Thank you so much for everything!!
