MVP Hair and Makeup Artistry
I got married at the Ceiba Del Mar resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico on December 3, 2011 and had the pleasure of hiring Melissa to do my hair and make-up. My husband and I traveled down to Puerto Morelos, Mexico in March of 2011 to meet with vendors and MVP was one of them. From the start I really liked Melissa and Edgar. My make-up trial went smoothly and she took the time to ask questions and to get to know me. I highly recommend brides to be to do make-up trials with their prospective vendor just to make sure they're a right fit.
What I really appreciated about Melissa though was that she was able to work with my extremely sensitive skin. I've had eczema all my life and unfortunately it's a constant battle to keep in under control. It doesn't help that stress contributes to my break-outs. We e-mailed and kept in touch during the months before December and she gave me some great advice on what to do to prep my sensitive skin (sleeping with my hair pulled back, wearing sunscreen daily, etc). I even recommended Melissa to my wedding coordinator who used MVP for her client that had a June wedding in Mexico.
Dec 3rd arrived and everyone was bustling about trying to get ready. Since I didn't have a wedding party Melissa only had to work on me and my sister-in-law. She got there promptly and got right down to business. She prepped my hair first and then worked on my sister-in-law's hair (which looked amazing as well). She was even so nice as to help my mom line her eyes at the last minute. Melissa then started on my make-up which probably took the most time since she had to cover up my eczema that decided to flare up on my forehead :( Alas being stress-free on the big day was not in my cards. She did a great job of covering up the eczema. I went for a very clean look with some false eyelashes and bright red lipstick so the skin had to look flawless and Melissa was able to achieve that. My make-up looked great throughout the day and night (and through all the tears!). I LOVED how she did my hair...she curled my hair and pinned everything up in a loose side bun. At one point, I asked her advice on which flower I should pin in my hair and in her wise way she said, "go big or go home."
I highly recommend MVP's services!
