Dreams was absolutely perfect for us!  We got married on Nov. 18th 2011 and after going through several wedding coordinators we ended up with Fatima.  She was pretty new but really rocked it.  Email communication is a little spotty but gets much more frequent as your wedding approaches. Here are some details:

Resort

We stayed in the preferred tower but most of our guests stayed in the regular tower.  We really liked this resort because it gave our guests options in terms of budget.  The preferred tower is much nicer, but I wouldn't pay the extra for it next time.  We had 60 guests and the resort is a perfect size.  Big enough to lose people if you want to.  If you want to hang with everyone you'll probably run into them at the pool bar!  The pools and beach were in great condition.  Food was great everywhere we went, especially Oceana!  No complaints with the resort and all of our guests raved about it.

Rehearsal Dinner / Bonfire

We had our rehearsal dinner at Seaside and since all the restaurants do not take reservations we were a little worried about sitting together.  The hostess told us that if we purchased a bottle of wine for each table, they would reserve it for us.  So we paid about $75 for 3 tables of 10.  It worked out well!  Then we had our bonfire on the beach for $300 which everyone LOVED.  We had our own bartender and huge marshmallows, chocolate and cookies. I highly recommend the bonfire!

Wedding / Music / Cake

Our ceremony was at Seaside Beach and the reception was on Las Palmas Terrace (buffet style).  These locations were perfect for us.  Fatima was there the whole time and helped to make sure everything stayed on pace.  We had a sound system for the ceremony and a DJ for the reception.  The sound system worked out well and they played all the songs at the right time.  We actually created playlists for the DJ / reception but our main problem with the entire wedding was that the DJ did NOT play most of our songs.  We went up to him several times (we created the playlist for the reason!).  In general he was good and all of our guests had a great time dancing regardless.  Of all things this was our main problem - so I consider us very lucky! The waiters and bartenders were so much fun and really added to the overall experience!  We decided to do a 3-tier cake and paid extra for it.  Mostly for the cake cutting pictures :)  It wasn't very good and the regular buffet desserts were delicious.  If I were to do it again I would skip the cake.  But it was very pretty...

Decor & Flowers

I gave Fatima pictures of exactly what I wanted for everything and she matched it pretty well.  The more direction you give the better, I think. We upgraded the chairs to the wooden "tiffany" chairs and paid extra for them.

Salon

Bianca did my hair and make-up for the wedding and she did a fantastic job!  I decided at the last minute to do a hair updo trial and I'm really glad I did.  She followed all of my direction.  The 2 other stylists worked on my bridesmaids and they did a good job as well. They brought us mimosas when we asked and kept em coming :)

Photography

Pictures were VERY important to us so we decided to hire outside the resort.  There is an outside vendor fee of $100 if the person is local and lives in Mexico.  We found Michelle Turner and she was fantastic.  Amazing pictures and great to work with.  I highly highly recommend her!  She's pricey but worth it!

Videography

We decided a month before the wedding that we wanted a video of our big day.  I found Ray at PromoVision and his prices are very reasonable.  http://promovisionpv.com/

I work in video production so I took the tapes with me after our wedding and had my co-worker edit the video.  It worked out well, and I'm sure his video would look great if he edited it himself too.

All in all we were very happy with Dreams.  You do need to stay on top of the coordinator and tell them exactly what you want!  Happy planning :-)
