Ivan was our photographer for our May 20, 2011 wedding. We first started planning 2 years ago (we were engaged for 19 months so had LOTS of time to plan). Since I had no idea how to start planning a destination wedding, I first took on the task of looking into photographers. I looked at about a dozen different Riviera Maya photographers (as well as some US photographers) and compared them to each other, considering package deals, prices, available equipment (ability to take underwater pics), etc. Ivan immediately stood out to me because of the quality of his photos, price, package deals, etc. It seemed like such a good deal that I was actually a bit apprehensive to book with him!! I was sure there had to be a catch! Since he had fabulous reviews from other brides though, I decided to book him before he realized what a hot item he was! : )

The first thing I noticed was how awesome he was at answering emails. Being new to destination wedding planning, I had a million questions. . . he answered ALL of them! He was very patient and thorough, and I must mention again at how quickly he responded to all of my questions. Not answering emails is a huge pet peeve of mine, especially when it is dealing with something like wedding planning and you are trying to make a bunch decisions in a small amount of time.

I played the waiting game for the next year and a half while I watched Ivan post beautiful photos of other people’s weddings and counted down the days until our wedding! When the day finally arrived I was a bit nervous considering my cell phone was not turned on in Mexico, and I needed to touch base with Ivan! Luckily since he is so great at responding to emails, we got in touch and he (and his LOVELY wife) showed up right on time to take photos at the salon! For the next 9 or so hours, they were right there doing what they do best. After the wedding we walked to the beach and around 5^th Avenue to get portraits taken and he was so great at finding cool places to stop at. Definitely an eye for detail!

We had a TTD session also booked so at the end of the night we discussed when and where to meet up for that. He was so flexible! We decided to take a couple days off before getting up early for TTD photos (which we thought was a great idea to get to sleep in the day after our wedding!) Two days later Ivan and Anell picked us up and we headed to the cenotes! About 6 hours of cenote, beach, and “jungle-type” shooting made for AMAZING photos!! Ivan and Anell are great people to hang out with! In between locations we got some beer and some chips and chatted away!

Ivan was struggling with his knee throughout our wedding/TTD shoots, but it never stopped him from getting the shots he wanted. They both made you feel so comfortable and at ease. It was very reassuring knowing that they are getting all the great shots. I would recommend them for any wedding (and already have to some upcoming Riviera Maya brides!) There is nothing I would have done differently in my choice of wedding photographer!!
