Pros: great staff, rooms have great views, food was great, beautiful pictures
Cons: Smaller Beaches

New Image.JPGwedding.JPGI arrived to the resort in the worst mood was for sure that my wedding would not be what I had dreamed.  I was supposed to get married at Sandals Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas but Hurricane Irene closed the resort & I had to re-plan the wedding in a different country with 4 days to go.  The room wasn’t what we had paid for in the Bahamas. After a call to the concierge, they promised us we would be moved to an oceanfront walkout the next day like we had in the Bahamas.

We arrived on a Saturday & our meeting with the on-site wedding planner, Marceen,  was Sunday at 11am.  I left the meeting in such a great mood! I was soo excited for the wedding after being able to visually see everything that we had planned. We went with the Beautiful Beginnings package. Instead of the purple flowers we were able to substitute white flowers for free. I paid $350 for the Vision In White arch & booked the ceremony on the beach instead of the wedding pier. It made the pictures! I picked a string of white lanterns for $75 & rented the PA System so I could hook up our Ipod & play our Wedding Playlist during the reception.  On top of the white flowers that came on the cake, I had my mom stick the initial “K” on top that I purchased from Hobby Lobby for $5. It made it look so much better! For the cake flavors, they give you 3 options, Vanilla, Chocolate or Jamaican Fruit Cake. We picked the Chocolate & it was amazing. They allowed us to bring back the unused cake for our 1st anniversary. We had no problem getting it through customs & carried it on the plane.

Day of wedding, our ceremony was at 5:00. At 2pm I went to the Spa to get my hair & makeup done. I was extremely nervous as I didn’t do a trial but I showed her a picture of what I wanted & was very pleased with the outcome of both hair & makeup. About 3:30 I was finished & went back to the room to get ready. Marceen came & got me at 4:45. I walked down the aisle & was amazed at how it looked!

The wind had started to pick up & I knew that a storm was coming.  We were able to get the ceremony in & by the time we got to the sand ceremony it was black out.  We were not able to get any pictures after the ceremony. We ran to a hut right off the beach that is used to give massages . Our cocktail hour was moved to the hut instead of the beach. It ended up being kind of romantic. While we were having our cocktail hour, the wedding coordinators frantically moved my reception from the beach to a private room in the back of the piano bar.

The pictures had to be rescheduled for the next day, so I had to get my hair & make up redone the next day.  The pictures were the most important thing to me. I have got so many compliments on the pictures. 5+ people have said they are the prettiest wedding pictures they have ever seen! I purchased 200 photos & the Vintage DVD. The DVD is worth way more than the $500 that they charge! It’s a must!!! We did Trash the Dress & jumped in the ocean in my dress. It was really fun!!

I highly recommend this resort & the wedding staff is all I could have wished  for.
