I could gush about our experience with HDC for hours!  They came to our rescue on more than one occasion for our wedding photos.  8 days before our May 14th wedding in Punta Cana, we were informed the photographer we had initially booked through our resort was no longer available for our wedding.  I couldn’t have been more panicked – 8 days before our wedding and we no longer have a photographer!  I emailed HDC to explain our situation and expected they would not be available for our wedding date since it was only 8 days away.  Much to my delight, Arnaud (the owner) replied to my email within a few hours and confirmed they were available to photograph our wedding the following weekend.  Arnaud also included all of the necessary information for HDC’s packages and explained we would be booked as soon as they received our deposit.  Putting the deposit down for the photographer was incredibly simple; Arnaud provided the information for HDC’s PayPal account, and we just had to transfer 20% of our total package’s price to that account. 

We loved the packages HDC offered to their customers, and especially loved that we could simply purchase the disc of our photos and print them at our leisure.  Many photographers do not give you the option of purchasing the disk that contains the raw photo data, and those that do add a significant up-charge for this.  All the other photographers we researched essentially make you pay several hundred dollars to own the copyright to your own wedding photos!  HDC includes the copyright in its base pricing so there is no up-charge.  The fact that we could buy all of our wedding photos was a huge selling point for us. 

We had our photography and videography done through HDC.  Daniel was our photographer, and we cannot say enough great things about him.  He definitely comes HIGHLY recommended. The pictures turned out absolutely beautiful!  He was adamant about capturing every moment, and did a great job with that.  At one point, we even saw Daniel curled up in the fetal position on the dance floor to get the perfect shot.  He was amazing!  We were very pleased with how our video turned out also.  There were a few glitches with the editing, but HDC fixed these promptly and with no hassle or added cost and mailed the final copy of the video to our home in the states.  The video was shot perfectly and made me cry when we finally got to see it.  Absolutely gorgeous.

A few days after our wedding, while we were still in Punta Cana, Arnaud drove to our resort and met with us in the lobby to show us our wedding photos and video.  He sat with us in the lobby while we watched the slideshow of pictures on his laptop and couldn’t have been more patient.  He kept telling us to take our time and it wasn’t a problem at all for us to look at them.  The fact that HDC is able to provide you with your wedding photos only days after your wedding is a testament to how wonderful they are.  Many traditional photographers don’t have wedding pictures completed for weeks or even months after the event.  It was so great we were able to review the photos and video with the owner of the company while we were still in the Dominican.  One suggestion we would make to those who have planned destination weddings is to purchase the cd of your photos and have them printed when you are back home.  You will most likely save money this way and most importantly you’ll save valuable vacation/honeymoon time. It took us approximately 3 hours to review our photos and video.  If we had to narrow down which photos to print, we would’ve been there for another 3 hours since we had roughly 500 photos to look through.  There were so many gorgeous photos taken, it would’ve been incredibly difficult to decide right then and there which ones to print.

HDC made this part of our wedding almost effortless.  Arnaud is quick to reply to emails and will answer any questions you have prior to booking.  Their prices were competitive and we loved the package options they provided.  The staff that was on hand for our wedding was attentive, patient, professional and creative.  Dealing with HDC was always a pleasant experience, and they were very honest and incredibly easy to deal with.  We would absolutely deal with HDC again  - everything about our experience was pleasant and we were ecstatic with the final product.  You’re in good hands with HDC!
