MIAMI COORDINATOR:
Janina was our Miami coordinator. She was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. I have no complaints! She was efficient and very helpful. She was there for anything I needed.
COORDINATOR:
Claudia was our wedding coordinator. She was absolutely wonderful as well. She was very helpful with everything. It amazes me how I planned a whole wedding over email and everything came together perfectly.
Rooms:
The room block for our guests was on the sunrise side. The sunrise side has all the entertainment. Our rooms were on the Nizuc side. We were happy with our room until we saw the rooms in the Grand section. The rooms were twice the size for the same price. There was not an ocean view but that did not bother us. We asked to be moved over there and at first they told us it was for members only. I knew that was a lie because a couple that was there for our wedding had booked there. They were not members. I contacted Claudia our coordinator and she took care of it. She had us moved to the grand side and we were happy. This is my thoughts about the rooms and locations at the resort: All of the rooms were nice. The Sunrise side had a lot of entertainment. The Nizuc had all of the wedding locations, and the Grand was brand new and the rooms were huge but very far away from the Sunrise. (something to think about if your guests have a room block there). In our opinion if you want to “honeymoon” stay on the grand side. Its quiet, posh, and not as many kids. For a bride getting ready with family, photographers, etc...in the room, the rooms on the grand side were excellent because they were so big. If you want an ocean view and would like to be close to all the entertainment do not book there. It is all preference. We loved the grand side. I also heard the spa over there is much better. DO not let them tell you its for members only=)
Rehearsal Dinner (Friday Night):
Location: Arrecifes on the terrace
The set up was beautiful and we had a great time. The food tasted good but two of our guests got food poising that night. One being my dad the day before the wedding! Thank goodness he was ok. We think it was the pork that they ate. All the pictures in the review are pictures that friends took. There is a link to the professional ones under photographers.
WEDDING DAY (Sat):
The morning of the wedding day I went to the spa in the Nizuc lobby. Doris did my hair and makeup. She was fabulous! I was scared to death about what it would look like but I was very happy. She was great! It was VERY windy that day. I had my hair up and it looked great. By the end of everything I was so wind blown! Use lots of hairspray!
The wedding was at 4:00 and at 1:30 the rain came in. It cleared up right before the ceremony. Thank goodness! I am still in shock how smoothly everything went and just came together. I had purchased the emerald package. I did not want to bring in my own decorations etc. We had an at home reception when we got back so I did not want to spend a ton of money. Everything was perfect. I was so happy with everything. Everything looked beautiful and the scenery was enough decorations for us. I purchased my sisters bouquet and my flower girl’s rose petals there. We also purchased 2 boutonnieres for the guys. I purchased a flower for my hair, and paid for the OOT bags to be delivered to the rooms. We had to also pay for 2 day passes for my photographers. The total cost: 4,035.50---- That was everything.
COCKTAIL HOUR:
The cocktail hour was originally booked at the Tucan terrace. I decided to move it to the terrace above the restaurant in the Grand section by the lobby. It cost extra but it was worth it for us. Our guests booked enough rooms for us to have a free cocktail hour. We extended it 1 hour and paid for the ipod hookup with speakers. I was so worried about it being “chessy” but it worked out perfectly. We had so much fun.
Photographer:
I had La Luna photograph our wedding. Jonathan was our photographer. I can not thank them enough. Jonathan was wonderful. They did an excellent job capturing the day. Our pictures told the story of it all. Here is the link:

They were professional from the very beginning. I was so nervous about a photographer. I am so happy we hired them.
