Travel- D
I traveled from New York with a group of 26 people. The flight down to Jamaica was actually very smooth and there were no delays. Our flights back now that is another story. Every member of my party had delayed flights and I actually missed one day of my honeymoon due to flight delays. We flew with American Airline and I dont think I will ever do that again. Our flight was suppose to leave Jamaica at 6:45am to connect in Miami to catch our flight to Cancun. Lets just say we did not leave Jamaica until 10:45pm and had to spend the night in Miami and catch a flight the next morning. Then on our Amarican Airline flights back to the states we were delayed again in Cancun and had to spend and extra night in Cancun and returned a day late. Only reason Travel didnt get an F is because my flight going to Jamaica was a good one.
Rooms A-
When we initially arrived we stayed in a Jr. Suite. It was very clean and the beds were very soft. We later upgraded to a Suite the night before the wedding and it is absolutely beautiful. It is spacious and has a remarkable view. Some of my guest did have an issue with ants and asked for their room to be changed and it was granted immediately. But for the most part the hotel rooms were great.
Food B+
The food was good for the most part. My guest and I enjoyed the buffet for dinner. The buffet for breakfast was good but I felt that from day to day the menu stayed the same and there wasn't many new items to try. My husband and I also had dinner at Mamme Bay and the Japanese Restaurant that is only for guest in the suites. The food in Mamme bay was good but they do not truly follow the way in which you ask them to prepare your meat. My husband asked for well done and her received medium and I asked for medium well and received rare. We had to ask for the steaks to be cooked a little more and when they returned the both were over cooked. This made us a little nervouse because we choose to use the Mamme Bay steakhouse menu for out wedding. The Japanese food was very good and if you like different cultures of food try it.
Entertainment A++++
The entertainment at the RUI is amazing. The dances practice all day and put on a different theme show every night. My family and guest would be excited to watch and take part in the shows every night. If you have the time do not miss it. They also keep the crowd entertained at the pool and kept us live and wanting more more more.
Tours: A+
We used Lee Tour which was a reccommendation from my TA Heather at Elite Travel Group and that was one of the best things I could hve done. I had about 80 guest so we planned a tour to Kingston to visit the Bob Marley Museum , we had a tour of Ocho Rios where we visited Dunn River Falls and the day before we were due to leave we did a tour to Negril. The drivers from Lee tours are extremely sweet. We didn't have to worry about leaving our items in the bus because they were well protected by the drivers. The drivers also took us to landmarks that were not initially on the tour but because we asked about it we were taken to see them. Lee Tours was a breathe of fresh air.
WEDDINGGGGGGGGG - A+++++
Kiesha C-/ Sonjaya A+++
Before I arrived to the RUI most of the questions that I had I sent it to my TA at Elite travel because they have a very good relationship with the ROR staff and can get most of your request honored. When I arrived Kiesha was unavailable and I met with Sonjaya. Sonjaya was great sheconfirmed all my emails and made me feel at ease. I did as Kiesha about having a Rehersal dinner being that I was having a huge wedding party and she agreed. The day before the wedding Kiesha was no where to be found and when I sent someone to request her she explained that they only set up the welcome dinner at St. Ann resturant and that I had to take my wedding party and navigate it myself. Well my sister aka my Matron of honor was not having that so she went and found the General Manager of the hotel and informed her that we have over 80 guest on property and an additional 25 coming the day of the wedding and if someone does not come this moment to have a rehersal she wants a full refund. Her wishes were granted and Sonjaya appeared to take us on a tour of where the Beach weddign would take place. She helped line up the wedding party and helped us do a few run throughs. The day of the wedding I never saw Kiesha it was Sonjaya that brought me my flowers and got everyone together for the ceremony.
Flowers. A-
I received my flowers from Jan's florist. They did a really good job on my tables and on the cake. The only reason they did not receive an A is because I expected the arrangements to be fuller and they were scaled down a bit. my flowere were absolutely beautiful and they did a fab job on the decor for the reception at the plantation.
Cake B-
My cake situation was bittersweet. My TA reccommended Shiela's bakery and I sae many brides wih positive comments about her cakes therefore I did use them. The cake was a 4 tier topsy turvy square cake. Each layer was a different flavor and it was all covered by buttercream. The cake was a beauty buttttt it also fell over. I thank God that I waas able to cut my cake and take photos befor this but this was a tragedy. The cake was being held together by candle sticks as opposed to the sticks that the normal US bakery uses. So the top two layers fell and was a waste of my money. From what the guest tell me the red velvet and Jamican fruit cake bottom layer were delicious. So my review for them is mixed.
Make Up and Hair A++++++++++++++
I had my hair and make up done by Rashel edwards of Chasity Artistry. She did the make up for about 10 of my Bridesmaids, my mother, grandmother, and self. She does airbrush make up and make you flawlesssssssss. She is very sweet and makes you feel likr the Queen you are for the day. Her assistant Fiona who does hair is also a joy to be aroung and she did my hair exactly like the photo's that I sent her before hand and even jazzed it up a little more.My hairstyle kept up for the entire night as did my make up.
Photography/Videography A+++
I used Marcia Roberts and her team for my photos. They are very reasonable in price and they make you feel like a super model. They went to the rrom where the guys were getting ready and took photos as well as where my bridesmaids were. The camera crew did not miss a moment, they were alwas there snapping away. I received my video and photo's about 2-3 weeks after my weddign and Im tellign you the photos and places she places you to pose is phenomenalllllllll.
DJ - FFFFFFF
We hired the DJ at the RUI for our wedding only because we were unable to rent the system so that our DJ from home could DJ.
we go stuck with having the RUI DJ. I thank God that a fellow bride warned me and advised me to bring my own CD's with the music we wanted to hear. My CD's played all night and my guest had a ball. He got paid to play CD's that my DJ created and mixed.
Ceremony A+++
The Ceremony was beautiful we have a program made at home and the minister followed it and added some of his own touches. The minister was really good and sent a message without being long winded. He was very good. After the ceremony I had Hor d'ourves for my guest and champagne on the beach as my husband, the wedding party and I took photo's. It was everything I could have imagined or dream of.
Reception A++
We had our reception at the Plantation because we had over 50 guest. The service at the reception hall was the besttttttt. The took such good care of my family. My family enjoyed the open bar and partied and danced the night away.
