Pros: Amazing staff, Outstanding Wedding Coordinator, Stunning resort rooms and grounds!
Cons: Email/phone communication with WC, some confusion on what resort dollars could be used for.

Well to say our trip is ASP was anything but perfection I would be telling a lie!

The resort itself was absolutly stunning. Every staff member makes sure that you and your guests are treated like royalty throughout your stay at their resort. You get special wristbands that let the staff know if your are a part of the wedding group.

The room...

When we first checked in we stayed in a Conceirge level room, which was very nice. We had a beautiful ocean view and upgraded ammenities. When we met with our WC, Cristina, she informed us that we could upgrade to a 1 bedroom presidential suite, which we did! Let me just say...if you are given this option DO IT! Our room was huge and amazing. We had a balcony three times the size of a traditional room and had an upfront ocean view. I can't put into words how magical it was!

The food...

Everything I ate was delicious! While at ASP (we switched to Playacar Palace a few days after the wedding ceremony for som privacy) I only at La Hacienda (Mexican) and Momonohana (Oriental) for dinner. Both places were delicious! My husband loves sushi so he was in his glory at the Oriental restaurant. Breakfast was also very good each day. We did do breakfast in bed one morning, but I wasn't a big fan. Late night room service wasn't very good either, but we didn't care! The past thing about the food was the quacamole! ASP has the BEST quacamole I have ever eaten.

Food for private events...

For the Welcome Dinner we did he BBQ and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

For our Cocktail Hour the day of the wedding we chose the International appetizers.

For our wedding dinner we picked the Italian Buffet and everyone had positive things to say about that too!

Our Wedding Day....

One word - PERFECTION! Even when little hiccups happened it didn't matter. Cristina, our wedding coordinator was amazing! She truly was wonder woman and I can't thank her enough for all that she did to make sure our special day went off without a hitch! :)

Flowers were amazing! Ceremony in the Tulum Gazebo was breathtaking! The horse and carriage ride left not one dry-eye. The reception was amazing! :)

Last but not least was our photographers. We decided (last minute) that we weren't comfortable going with the resort photographer. I looked around and heard about La Luna Photographers. By far the best decision I could have made! Melissa and her assistant Juan were unbelievable. Not only do they take AMAZING photos, but they are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. And on top of that they made us all feel beautiful and what more can you ask for than that on your wedding day. From start to finish La Luna was a class act. The result of my decision to choose this company has left me with a cd of photos filled with more memories than I could ever imagine! They captured every little detail that you miss the day of your wedding because of all the nerves and craziness. Now I have his photoalbum to look at for all time and to share with all of my loved ones for years to come!

Thank you La Luna and thank you Cristina and Aventura Spa Palace for make our wedding perfect!

<3,

Lauren Williams

Lauren, thank you for your wedding review and your pictures were gorgeous!!! I absolutely love the bridesmaid dresses and that is the EXACT color I am looking for! Can I ask where you found them?

I hope you don't mind, but I do have a few questions for you. Is the Tulum Gazebo the one at the far end on the Spa side? The one that people say has a green fence off to the side?? I didn't see the fence at all in your pictures! And the horse and carriage can pull right up correct?

How did you like Aventura compared to Playacar? We had a tough time picking between the 2 resorts in the beginning. I like Playacar for the beach and location, but it didn't seem to have quite as much to offer as Aventura. I'm hoping to plan a day trip there so guests can enjoy the beach:)

Did you get all your flowers through the resort...boutoineres (spelling?), corsages, etc? If you don't mind me asking, was your bouquet upgraded or included in your package? It's hard for me to tell what's included and what people paid extra for.

Did you have all your locations picked out beforehand or did you wait to pick some until you got down there? I'm torn with this because I want to have an 'agenda' for guests so they know where to be at certain times, but yet I want to wait and see some of the places when we get down there.

Ok enough questions for now...sorry to bombard you!!

Hey there!

Please don't feel like your bothering me! I know how hard it is to plan a destination wedding and sometimes you feel like your not really getting anywhere. So any help I can provide just let me know...

Here we go:

1) I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from House of Brides (its an online bridal boutique) They cost around $120 per girl. They are a Bari Jay dress in coral. I had the girls send me their sizes and a check for the dress and I ordered them all at the same time so the dresses would be cut from the same dyelot.

2.) I did get married at the Tulum Gazebo, which is at the far-end of the Spa side. That is where the green fence is but trust me it's not noticeable at all! I loved that gazebo because of how private it was. The only people that were there were my family and friends and zero onlookers! :) The carriage pulls right up to gazebo, which is absolutely amazing...my guests and hubby loved my entrance!

3) ASP is a whole different quality resort than Playacar. I loved that the resort was adult only! It is amazing there! Plus you get to use the entire 1500 resort credit in the spa and jewelry store! Playacar's beach is stunning and a few of my guests hopped the resort transportation or took a taxi (it's $20 each way) to enjoy that resort. We stayed there for 4 nights to excape from everyone else. If you can do that it's definetly worth it.

4) I did get all my flowers through the resort. I think the total cost of everything was around $1100. That included bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, a toss bouquet, centerpieces and votive candles. You can go back and forth on price. Definelty work them down on the cost. Originally it was going to cost around $1500! My bouquet was included. They work with you on that for sure!

5) I had most of my locations picked out before hand. I can help you with that if you need some advice. I have pictures of a few different places.

Let me know if you need to know anything else! Hope this helps! :)

Hey Lauren! I thought of another question for you...were your bridesmaid flowers considered the 'tossing' bouquet or an actual bridesmaid bouquet? I was hoping to order the tossing bouquet for my sister because it is significantly cheaper (I'm having a tough time thinking of spending $126 on a regular bouquet)...but I'm concerned the tossing bouquet may be too small...

Hi again! My bridesmaid bouquets were full bouquets. Just remember that you can work with them on a budget for flowers. All of my flowers (including centerpieces, toss bouquet, and corsages for important people) came to around $1000.00. Hope that helps! :)
