My husband and I were married May 14, 2011 at The Royal in Cancun.  I am going to sum up an amazing week long adventure at The Royal...first a little background... 

My husband and I were at first planning a big New York wedding, when we both realized, we weren't doing it for us, and decided to do something much more our style and head out of town to get hitched.  When we told our families Mexico, they were at first appalled, but of course, supported us in any decision we made.  I have to admit, this was more my husband's idea than mine, and I was a little wary.  Trying to do everything from a distance can seem like a huge burden and for anyone thinking of doing it, it was certainly not as easy as I had hoped - which resort, hair, make-up, photographer, etc.  Of course the one thing I was adamant about was having amazing pictures.  I searched all over the web, but when I saw del Sol's images I knew I had to have them.  To put it simply, they were amazing!

Overall The Royal was amazing, but not without a few glitches.  The way they go about planning weddings is a little screwy and until you get your on-site coordinator, it can be a little frustrating.  Our on-site coordinator was Diana and she was nothing short of amazing!  She made sure the whole day ran smoothly and it certainly did!

The staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate.  My husband and I had previously gone in February to check everything out and it was spectacular....when we returned in May the resort was full to the gills so while still awesome, I think the staff was stretched a little thin...we had a slight rooming issue, which our guests didn't mind, but considering we placed a hefty deposit to hold certain rooms - we minded.  Also, don't count on having anything delivered to the resort, this just does not work well.  Other than that, the food was great, staff was very friendly and they really try to make your stay as relaxing as possible.  I know I will DEFINITELY return.

As for the wedding portion - if you want really amazing, artsy pictures from a dependable, friendly, amazing photographer - use del Sol!  Also, have Diana be your wedding coordinator, she's amazing!
