Pros: undeniably beautiful location, weather, all-inclusive, luxurious, five star, doting staff, private (off of main hotel zone)
Cons: long distance from where i live

From the moment we arrived at EPM, we felt relaxed and spoiled. After being greeted by a bell hop, you are handed a fresh cold towel and a chilled glass of champagne to make you instantly forget that you've spent your entire day on a stuffy airplane.

We arrived 4 days prior to our wedding ceremony. The first night we unpacked, ate dinner and just took in the beauty of our new home for the next 10 days. The following day after lounging on the beach and soaking up some much needed sun, we returned to our room to find a voicemail from our WC to arrange our meeting. I was surprised to find that Yamina, the person who I had been working with since day one, was no longer working at EPM. Luckily, she left all of the details that we had discussed in good order and Norma and Ileana just reconfirmed everything to make sure that we were on the same page. All of the WCs were a pleasure to work with and they handled every last detail with care. They also arranged a welcome dinner at Barcelona and a rehearsal dinner at the weekly Mexican Fiesta. I was amazed by the detail that they put into these dinners, which were not even the main event! I was surprised to find cute little personalized menus at our welcome dinner. It really was a nice extra touch.

Not only were we blown away by the exceptional service and beauty of the resort, but our guests were truly amazed as well and they all felt that it was worth the money and the travel to be there. To be honest, MOST of our guests were upgraded to nicer rooms upon check in. Three couples landed rooftop terrace suites (complete with a private dipping pool) and one couple landed a swim up suite (which ended up our "party room" where everyone often regrouped.) All of our guests have actually thanked my husband and I for giving them reason to have such an amazing experience/vacation.

On the morning of the wedding, I went with my bridal party and a few other ladies to the Mille Spa. They were able to squeeze in our group of 8 with only one day of notice. We spent an hour going through the hydrotherapy circuit, then relaxed in the cool (temp) rooftop dome and noshed on fruit trays, then had our massages. It was a fabulous way to start the day and each one of the ladies said that their massage was wonderful. Right after that appointment, I had hair and makeup. I walked in to the beauty parlor to find a gentleman named Christian there to style my hair. I was a little bit nervous about hair in general because I have fine hair and a big head, which makes updo styling difficult, but Christian was able to work his magic and made my hair look beautiful! It looked soft, but it didn't budge or fall all night! After hair, I was ready for makeup... which Christian also did! I was just really impressed by this multitalented dude and he did better than I ever could have imagined. I left extra time after my hair/make up just in case I needed to make any adjustments, but honestly- I didn't change a thing.

The wedding was a beautiful blur, but I do remember that all of the details were as discussed and the food and cake were delicious! We went with the vanilla cake with strawberry filling BTW. We had one guest who despises sea food and, as planned, they did not let an ounce of salmon, lobster or sea bass touch his plate. (But OH how he was missing out!)

We used the resort photographer, Blue Lens Caribe, and Juan Carlos did a fabulous job of documenting our big day. The photos are so special and he did a great job of editing them to give them that extra special something. The gold package comes with some photos but you will talk to Juan Carlos if you want anything extra. He cut us an unbeatable deal. We almost felt like we were stealing his work! One thing I will say, is that if you are really picky about video work, you might want to figure something else out other than what's included. Our video is fine for us, we aren't that picky, but the sound quality is pretty bad (we were on the beach so it's kind of expected.) They did some cute editing to the video too and included some footage of the resort as well.

Altogether, we were completely satisfied with our wedding day and the resort in general. I don't think that I could have found a more beautiful place at such a great value!
