Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa - Luxury All Inclusive
WOW! It is finally my turn to be able to review Dreams! I wanted to say thank you to the brides before me for their great reviews and reassuring me everything will be ok! I would give the same advice to all upcoming brides at Dreams, they will take care of you!
My husband and I have a long history with dreams. John took me to Dreams as a college present/late anniversary getaway 5 years ago. We instantly fell in love with the resort. He had his heart set on having our wedding at Dreams after our first visit. Dreams was also where he proposed last year…fast ward…Dreams has created my Dream Wedding.
Our small group of 8 arrived first on Thursday (May 19) in the morning. Like our previous visits, the staff greeted us with open arms, cold towels and champagne. Claudia (our WC) upgraded our rooms to an ocean view room and surprised us with a lovely centerpiece and champagne in the room. We left our room number for the rest of our guests to reach us which was really helpful. All of friends and family loved the resort and the friendly staff. We met with Claudia the next day and went over all the minor details. Claudia had a really busy week since it was really close to memorial weekend and many brides were having their wedding there. I had many requests which she was able to accommodate but communication was slow. We had to many times hunt her down just to speak with her. Our wedding party wanted to make our own centerpieces and bridesmaid bouquets so we had Claudia order flowers from a vendor so we can put it together ourselves. The flowers arrived the day before the wedding…just enough time for us to get it together.
We also met with our DJ, Rodrigo on Friday. I highly recommend him. HE is AWESOME!!!! I sent Rodrigo our playlist a few weeks before the wedding and basically told him, our vision for the reception: FUN! During our meeting he totally got us as a couple and gave us various suggestions on song selections.
Wedding Day:
John and I had a tradition Chinese tea ceremony before the wedding in our room. So it was a pretty hectic day for me before our actual ceremony. I did not use the resort spa for my hair and makeup instead I traded it in for my mom and mother law to get their makeup done. They did a beautiful job. After our tea ceremony, my bridesmaids helped me get ready. I looked at the clock and notice Juan our photographer was late (30mins), found out later that he was at our resort but no one told him where we were at and apparently we were suppose to get him (but we were not told by Claudia to do so?) A little boo boo. But once we had Juan he was amazing and fun to have as a photographer. We connected and he was able to get some great shots. Not sure if it was because of the mishaps or we had a great time with him, he offered us his private package where we get all of our prints and our original package.
Ceremony was beautiful and amazing. I love every moment of it. After the ceremony our guest had cocktail hour at the terrace where we had the staff decorated with pink lanterns. We wanted our guest to be active so during cocktail hours, there were several table with various activities: how well you know the couple questionnaire, scrapbook for us (which we provided our guest with a portable printer to print their pictures, papers, markers, etc.), and write a message to us on sand dollars so we can bring home with us. My sister and the staff help put it together, and our guests really enjoyed doing the various activities.
Party favors: mexican vanilla for females and hot sauce for male
Reception:
Centerpieces were created by us which I did not regret. My sister in law did a beautiful job.
Rodrigo was amazing! He was a great MC and DJ. He really had everyone involved and partying! The night was a blast. We really wanted our wedding to be a big party which he was able to create! With his suggestion, many of our guests partied with us at Desire (a night club next to Dreams).
The wedding was beautiful, staff was awesome and without a doubt my Dream wedding. J
