Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa All Inclusive
We just got back from a 12-day stay at Dreams Los Cabos and I can safely say that our wedding was simply perfect!
I will try and do my best capturing the details that may be useful for future brides:
Resort - Dreams Los Cabos
While selecting a resort for our destination wedding, I was walking a thin line between selecting a nice resort that could accommodate our very diverse wedding (My side is Persian, his side is from Florida and we had friends from Germany, UK, Canada and Australia) and be fairly priced so our guests could afford to come. And I have to say, with some serious help from Tammy Host, I hit the jackpot with Dreams Los Cabos. 60 guests stayed at this resort from all walks of life (With young kids, young adults ready to party, into outdoor adventures, etc) and they all had an AMAZING time.
In my opinion the resort can use some updates, it looks a little rundown and our bed was a little old, and some other minor things, but they sure make up for it by awesome service. From our maid, to wedding coordinator, to the bar tenders, to the omelet lady (Betty) all went out of their way to make us happy. The rooms are very nice and spacious. My favorite this about this resort is its people. They took care of everyone's needs. They made runs to the Italian restaurant to make my vegetarian friend a nice plate of food so he could eat with us. They brought blankets for kids as they were watching movies by the pool, they cleaned our room a few times a day, they called me by my new married name when they saw me (which put a smile on my face every day) and much more.
I have to say though, if you are someone who is used to very fancy 5 star hotels and gourmet food made by celebrity chefs; this may not be the right resort for you. But if you are interested in staying in a nice place (spacious rooms, but overall the resort can use some updating in my opinion), eat good food and be treated very well by very friendly people, go to Dreams. Our only complaint was our bed, it was not comfortable.
Our favorite food was the fish tacos at the Oceana restaurant, you have to try them! The Italian restaurant was just OK for me, but it was nice to dress up and eat at a nice place. Himitsu has good Asian food, but we ate at El Patio the most because they were the only place who could accommodate our huge party.
We stayed in the honeymoon suite 5520 and had an amazing view. Try and get a room on 4th or 5th floor overlooking the smaller pool.
Travel Agency – Wright Travel Agency and Vacations 4 Less
If you are having a destination wedding, make sure to hire a TA. You get a good group deal, make sure your family and friends are taken care of and save yourself a lot of headache, because you are not the point person for everyone’s travel arrangements. I started my wedding planning journey with talking to Tammy Host. And I am SO glad that I did. First of all, she is a sweetheart to talk to! And she helped me pick an amazing resort, booked my date with the resort and answered all my questions quickly and patiently.
Tammy Host, referred me to V4L once I selected my resort. They put together an amazing group package for us, which included free nights and upgrades for us plus one more upgrade. We could distribute the free nights as we liked, so we ended up helping out a few guests who couldn’t afford to come otherwise. V4L made reservations (resort, air and transportation) for most of our guests and it all went very smoothly. My only complaint is that I think they are shorthanded, because sometimes it would take them a few days to get back to my guests. But they ALWAYS responded to my emails very quickly. I will use them for my future travels.
Ceremony
We had our ceremony at the beach and got legally married there. I know that this is not very common but I really wanted to be married on my wedding day. It involved a blood test that was taken in our room (no big deal) and we needed four witnesses. A Mexican judge performed the ceremony in Spanish and our coordinator translated. It was beautiful J
Wedding Coordinator – Magda Rueda
Simply amazing! She joined the wedding team recently but she works extremely hard to make sure that your wedding is exactly as you have envisioned. She accommodated all our needs, even the traditional Persian decorations! Just trust her; she knows what she is doing!
Florist – Lola with Florenta
I have to admit that I have some reservations since our email communication wasn’t exactly clear, but she pulled it off. I got so many compliments on our flowers and centerpieces. The colors of my wedding were purple and orange and she did a great job putting the flowers together.
DJ Ricardo
My friends and family like to PARTY. And I mean our party was so crazy (and went on until 2 AM) that the bartenders and other guests were high fiving us the next day and telling us that we had the best wedding ever. Even our wedding coordinators and bartenders were on the dance floor from time to time and DJ Ricardo was the reason! He took the song selection that we gave him, he mixed the music and added some and created the ultimate party for us.

Cigar Roller – Mario
This was my husband's idea and it was a big hit with the guys. They were hand rolling cigars for a couple of hours at the reception and we had bought 40 cigars for our guests to enjoy. They even put our names on the label, which was pretty cool. They charged per hour and per cigar.
Hair
Isaura at the resort spa did my hair. We had a trial session and the communication was a little difficult, but she got what I wanted and made it happen. My hair lasted all night and looked great, even for the windy beach photos. She also did my hair for the rehearsal dinner. My recommendation would be to not have your hair down. There is a good chance that the beach would be windy. I will try and post a couple of pix where you can see the front and back of my hair. My friend did my make-up but my mom did her hair and make-up at the spa. I am posting a photo with my mom so you can see her makeup.
Photographer – Bradley Fraser
Bradley was very friendly; he took great photos and had them posted for us to look at in less than two weeks. We ended up not having enough time for photos (50 minutes after the ceremony). Just make sure that you let your photographer know what kind of pictures you are expecting, so he/she can help you allocate the appropriate amount of time. I loved that the full-size electronic version of our pictures was included in his price. Check out his website: http://www.bradleyfraser.com/blog/
I hope this helps future destination brides. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line.
Cheers,
Azadeh
