I just got back from my wedding and it was AMAZING!!
Checking in was painless. We did get there very early and had a few hours until our rooms were ready. They put the wristbands on us, told us to leave our bags in lobby, get a drink and start enjoying our vacation.....which we gladly did!! We just grabbed a swimsuit out and hit the beach. Check in time is 3pm and we got there at about noon.

We were just married at Sandos PlayaCar on 9.29.2012. Exactly 3 years to the day we met. It was GREAT! I want to share as much detail as I can because this forum helped me decide on this resort and I want to help others as well. We had enough people booked to receive the basic package at no cost. We were a group of 21 adults a child and a baby who went to Sandos Playacar from March 1st, 2012 to March 9th from several cities in Canada. My husband and I were married at the hotel on Monday March 5th.

We arrived just after midnight so there was no waiting. We had our room key and the luggage loaded onto a golf cart in about 15minutes. We took a thrill ride from the lobby down to the beach rooms were most people in our party were staying.

Okay, here we go. I got married on April 9, 2011 at the Sandos Playacar, and in hindsight, I WISH I wasn't stressed the whole 2 days before the wedding b/c it was PERFECT. I'm going to keep this short as I can.
Maria is awesome. leave everything to her and she will take care of it, so do not stress.
Hair Salon- The did a great job on the hair, but spoke zero English and were very rude. We asked if we could have alcohol in the room while getting our hair done and they laughed

General Hotel Experience: We went to Sandos Playacar for week in May 2010 for the wedding of some friends of ours. After a long day of travel and the ride from the Cancun airport, we were excited to reach the hotel. There was no one there to really greet us - the exit from the van with our luggage and where to go and what to do with our luggage was very confusing. RESORT: The resort was the best choice for our group. It was large but had enough meeting spots that we ran into our guests throughout the week without any problem. My parents stayed at the beach (RM#1110), which was such an amazing location. Considering we have small children, it was nice to have a close place to run to when we needed things. We got married at Sandos Playacar on July 23rd, 2010 and if I had to do it all over again, I'd choose Sandos over and over! It was everything we dreamed!

We had 28 total in our party, ranging in age from 2 to 82 and everyone had a wonderful time! The resort is located just a few minutes from downtown Playa del Carmen.
