  1. Hi!! I haven't heard about Novia Mia, and for hair and make up I can recommend Vo Evolution! they are great Good luck!!
  2. Hi!! I live in the area and I'm very involved in weddings, I haven't heard about neither DJ's, but there are A LOT of options in Riviera Maya... what I can recommend is that you check that their facebook page, instagram are up to date as well as their reviews in weddingwire, bodas.com.mx, (mexican wedding webpage similar than weddingwire). If deorromixx is an external vendor from the hotel, then is normal that their prices are half than the hotel in house DJ but it doesn't mean is a low quality, just do a little research on social media For floral design vendor I can recommend Cherry Blossom and photo/ video Roc'n'love photography, they are both local with good prices and great quality but before hiring them check the external vendor fee with your wedding planner, hotels charge a from $300 to $1,000 usd just for letting them into the property If you need any other tip feel free to ask me Good luck !!
  3. Hi Ladies! Flowers and decorations from resorts can be super expensive, it's always cheaper to get a local and external vendor, the hotel will probably charge and extra fee for this but even so, it will be cheaper! and quality is the same, you can look some option in the vendors here, in google, facebook, weddingwire, bodas.com.mx etc... just make sure to read their reviews =)
  4. Hi!! First of all Dreams Playa Mujeres is just beautiful!! I'm sure a wedding there will be lovely! The Hurricaine season starts from June until November, however in the Caribbean is more common to have storms and hurricaines on September or October, but like MarieSam says, in the tropics you never now (last year we had a storm in the middle of June). It might rain a litlte bit but consider that if it does during the wedding it stops the event (even if it's a 10 min rain) I would say go for it but make sure you see before and like the backup option. Another good months to gte married in the area is in April and May when the weather is better!! 5. I think the dance floor is a plus but not a must on the beach, specialy if you get married in Riviera Maya where the the sand is powdery and cool. Yes, it is more comfortable, and makes the whole design and decoration look nicer but if you are on a budget or prefer to spend more on flowers, rentals or time for the party is ok not to have one.
  6. Hi ladies!! I'm pro silk flowers on a wedding but it depends on the arrangement, for example: aisle decor on chairs YES (flowers and greenery), bridal bouquet: NOP, groom, groomsmen and bridesmaid bouquets YES There are some great and cheap options in Ali Express but they are from China, you need to take your time and look into all the options and it takes about 3 months to arrive. Another option is to look for floral design vendors in the area outside from the resort, usually when you buy the flowers in the hotel, they are very expensive (2x, 3x than local) and if you hire an external vendor, the hotel charges a fee but most of the time it's even cheaper to buy centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, arch/huppa arrangements etc. outside than buy them in the resort! I wouldn't recommend to do your own natural flowers arangements because Now Sapphire is in the middle of nowhere n Riviera Maya and you will need to go all the way to Cancun, plus they don't speak very good english in the local flower shops. Another tip: peonies in Mexico are one of the most expensive flower but there are other type of flowers call "garden roses" that are very similar and look amazing Happy planning!!
  7. Hi!! That actually looks pretty useful for guests! I'll maybe add bug spray (wich you can buy in walmart onsite at a good price in the pharmacy section!) and a gatorade powder mix! Happy planning!!
  8. Hi!! Usually in resorts the cost for the legal ceremony is much more higer than hiring directly with the judge. Have you tried asking if you can bring the judge and check all the paper work by yourself? (is not that complicated) And for foreigns getting married in Mexico is aprox. $580 usd (blood test, paper work and judge fee included). On the other hand, have you checked if the hotel provides a non-denomitional minister? They usually do all the ceremony and you just have to tell your vows if you like) They can do a sand ceremony, wine ceremony etc... andyou can include a poem or any similar text. In case the hotel doesn't provide the minister, you can ask perhaps a family member or friend to perform as minister and this way, the ceremony would be much more meanful to you bouth! If all your guests speak english, there are ministers that can do all the ceremony in this language so everybody can follow Happy planning =) Cynthia Ramonet Oh My Love Weddings - Destination Wedding Specialist in Riviera Maya
