  1. I think putting prices on your wedding website would be best Guests will want to know the total cost of the trip before committing to come because not everyone can afford to attend destination weddings. Of course the travel agent can answer questions, but it better to give guests information if you have it on hand.
  2. We are getting married May 2017 (different resort) and chose a photographer based on the style & reviews. To help with your hesitation, look at photographers websites, reviews and testimonies (they can be found all over the Internet). This should help weed out the posers!! Also, your photographer will send you a contract to read through before you put your deposit in, this should help clarify all questions and worst case scenarios, etc. Hope this helps!!! I'm sure whatever photographer you go with, will take beautiful photos and everything will work out wonderful!
  3. Where did you buy the table flower bouquets from? I love them
  4. @@ashhtayy If shipping costs, etc. don't work out with the first offer please let me know and I will take most of the items I am also located in Toronto!
  5. Sometimes you feel about after a big venting session - so hopefully you let some steam off! It is very frustrating when people don't get back to you, especially after putting the time, effort and money for stamps into the invitations and you just hear crickets back. I am dealing with similar stress right now, but this morning my mom told me to not stress over things I can't control. I should worry about the things I CAN control and the things I can influence. If people are taking too long to RSVP or haven't given you an answer, forget about them (for now). Enjoy your planning and be excited to celebrate with the people who committed to your wedding/trip and have booked PS. In my eyes thank you cards are a must!
  6. There is a Facebook group where past brides and future brides post questions, chat all topics and post photos! It is super helpful and very informative https://www.facebook.com/groups/59537241435/
  7. I just received a wedding invitation (not destination) and they used the website https://rsvpify.com/From a guest perspective it was very easy to navigate! For my wedding I had a RSVP card with the invitation sent in the mail. MY RSVP date is March 8th 2017, BUT the deposit date is July 13th 2016. I left the RSVP date later in case people could book last minute. It is kind of a catch 22. My travel agent also keeps me updated once or twice a week of new people that have put down deposits. I have only received about 1/3 RSVP cards back so far.
  8. I booked about 12.5 months out, but my wedding is in May (so that is a bit off season). I emailed a few travel agents to see what different prices they could get me for a variety of different resorts because we weren't sure which resort we wanted. We were being more price conscious so our families could afford to go. We met one travel agent in person and decided to go with her mainly because weddings and large groups are her specialty. We gave her an approximate budget per trip and she gave us different price points/resorts. Once our travel agent gave us quotes they were good for one week, in the that time frame we had to book or let the quotes go. Once we put our deposit there was 3 months until our guests deposits were due. I don't know if this is normal, but definitely something to speak to your travel agent about. My friend created our invitations so once my finance and I put our trip deposit down, we added the travel dates/wedding day to the invitation and then took a few days at the printer. Guests had 10 weeks to get deposits in from receiving the invitations. The only thing that I noticed about different travel quotes was that departing on Wednesdays seems to be cheaper! And don't be afraid to ask travel agents LOTS of questions - keep in mind it is your wedding and you need to be comfortable with everything
  9. Sorry for all your bad luck, but just remind yourself that everything happens for a reason and that everything will all work out in the end I used theknot.com ... I found it was easy to use because most of the pages are already created, you just have to add the text and photos. Only negative thing is that you can only have so many 'tabs/pages', so I found myself creating lots of sub-pages. Just in case you wanted to take a look at another example of a website mine is: www.theknot.com/us/herecomethebrownes Goodluck!
  10. @@BexA Hey! Which photographer did you go with!? How did the packages compare to the resort photographer? We are getting married next May at GSP and thought we would go with the resort photographer (based mainly on not wanting to pay outside vendor fees). However, we haven't actually made up our minds yet.
  11. @@nankleiner We are also planning our wedding at Grand Sunset Princess for May of 2017!!!!!! I have read lots of reviews that the cocktail party is private/fun and more budget friendly than the Chill Out Bar reception option.
