  1. Hello past brides!! Hopefully there are some of you that this message will reach. Its sad that not as many brides use this site anymore since I have found it to be far more helpful than the resort, pinterest or google. I am getting married at Paradisus Palma Real in September 2016!!! Were coming up to 4 months away and I know that time will fly by! I'm having issues negotiating any prices, I have seen previous brides who were able to get the 18% tax waived, any way I can save will be helpful. I have my ceremony on the beach at 6pm, we do plan to take pictures before ceremony, but does anyone think that 6pm might be too late? the cocktail hour will be on the colonial palaza and the reception is on the Olympus terrace. Does anyone know how well the Olympus terrace is lighted? I'm trying to figure out if I can use the lights included in my tailormaid package for the welcome beach bbq instead of the reception on the terrace. If yall think lighting is a must then I will take your advice. I also REALLY want the led dance floor, does anyone have a recommendation on what size floor I should get? I don't want to over crowd the Olympus Terrace. I am flying my own photographer out but I am REALLY interested in the photobooth that tropic one provides.. of course its another $900 plus 18% tax. Is the photo booth worth it? Does anyone think it would get wind blown around being outside?... I am also considering to pay for two fans, I'm sure in September the terrace area will get hot, especially while dancing. We are going with the house DJ. I am a little nervous about that, Does anyone have reviews on abentos? What DJ package did everyone go with? Right now I have the $700 package which includes, dj, mc, wirless mic and 2 robotic lights. the next package is for $1,000 and includes all the same plus 8 robotic lights and console. Is that really worth the extra $300? Thanks in advance, praying one of you brides will be able to help me out with some things! I seriously CAN NOT wait for my guest to experience the wedding of the year
  2. @@maria1488 that looks amazing! I definitely want the lights for the beach BBQ! Do you happen to have any pictures from the photo booth? I'm trying to decide between the led dance floor or photo booth .. Or both if I'm feelin spoiled it just adds up quickly. We are also doing the tailor maid package. Or reception is on the Olympus terrace, do you think I could do without a dance floor? Also currently we have it set that the cocktail hour is at Plaza Colonial. I'm starting to think we should just do both cocktail and reception at the same place. Would you recommend that? Thank you so much for your help
  3. Hi @@maria1488 I read that you did use the tropic one photo booth. Was it worth the $900? Were you able to talk the prices down on anything? Also did you pay to have lighting hung for the welcome BBQ? I'm still unsure about table toppers as well.
  4. @@maria1488 your video is amazing!! Sooo beautiful! Everything! Where did you find your ceremony sand frame? I've been looking for the perfect one. Were you able to get it home with out mixing? And did y'all end up staying at the reserve? Your entertainment was awesome! I didn't see that option, how long did reception last? I believe ours is 3 hours! Our ceremony is supposed to start at 6 since I didn't want it to be too hot but they told us the sun goes down by 7. Do you think 6pm is too late? Thank you again for the video!! You are a gorgeous bride!!
  5. Thanks for all the input! Do you have pictures yet from the actual wedding? I'll be getting married there in September! How did the spa ladies do with hair and makeup? Where have you seen reviews on the in house DJ? I'm nervous to use him but I really don't want to pay a fee to use another DJ! We are considering bringing our own music player for the welcome beach BBQ. Hopefully that works out okay! Thanks Again for the post
  6. Hello! I'm getting married at Paradisus Palma Real this September! I have been hearing nothing but good things. I also chose the tailormaid package! We decided to bring our own photographer/videographer and we got the $1k vender fee waived since they will be staying at least 3 nights at the resort. We decided to go with the in house DJ. Not sure what to expect and if I need to come up with my own music. I have read reviews on the spa lady's for hair and makeup. Everyone said good things about them except they are a little slow so they said expect an hour for an up do. Luckily I'm a hairdresser and several guest coming will be too. I do plan to use their spa for my up do but I have ppl to tweak it if needed. I'm still unsure on makeup yet! I'm getting so excited and I have found my most useful information off this site!! Right now I'm settling with an etsy seller on real touch flowers. I found it to be a much better deal then real flowers.. And with have 8 bridesmaids it just made sense. I'm a little concerned on how I'm getting everything to the Dominican but I will have like 12 family members on the same flight there so I may just try to split it up!! Goodluck planning! I have enjoyed it so far!! Can't wait to be there!!
