  1. @@lizzjameson Sure thing!! Their email address is: Sales Mannia <[email protected]> Everyone has been super helpful and I am so worried I will forget something since wedding planning is SO not my thing....this thread has been such a huge help. I really appreciate everyone's fast responses and can't wait to hear how everyone's wedding turns out!!!
  2. I read good things about the in house DJ so I will be using him. He has been very responsive and has a detailed form we can fill out so he will help us MC the wedding as well. The Spa was definitely strict about their suite so I will opt to get ready in my room with my BMs/Family too - hopefully it isn't too far of a walk from the spa since everyone is getting their hair done. @emmycita - What time are your events starting? Would you be willing to share what your photographer recommended? We are getting married at the Stone gazebo at 5:30 and plan to do formal pictures at around 3pm.
  3. 86 days for me!!! And I am definitely overwhelmed. They just changed our wedding coordinator from Luzdary to someone names Yanin. Has anyone used Yanin? Is anyone else using the Ballroom for their reception? We originally wanted Sky Bar but since our wedding will be over 100 people we are worried it might be too cramped for people. I am nervous about how my hair and makeup will turn out since I have hd bad experiences with people not knowing how to do Asian makeup very well or making me look like a clown.
  4. Did anyone book the Spa room to get ready in with your bridesmaids? How was it? Was there a place to hang all the dresses for a good photo opp? I kind of want to just get ready in my room with my BM's but wasn't sure if it would be a hassle to have to walk back and forth.
  5. @@Pixistick Great idea with the flower pedals!!! We don't know if we will have a flower girl yet. I LOVE vistaprint! I used them for our invitations and STD's. I had no idea they made bags too. Thanks for the tips!
  6. @@Pixistick Thanks so much for the info!! I will definitely head to concierge as soon as we arrive. Our wedding is on a Sunday and we arrive on a Wednesday. When we did our site visit in Sept, we saw a cute little private room in the Japanese Restaurant - did you dine there? It looked so cozy and cute with everyone sitting on pillows. Thanks for the tip about Beach Bags - I love that idea for welcome bags. Do you recommend an affordable place to order them? Also you only give 1 welcome bag per couple, right? Did any Bride ship their decorations?? I am considering DIY'ing the centerpieces bc they are so pricey!
  7. @@SusanMarie813 - Where did you have your welcome dinner? Was it the night before your wedding? Did you pay $28 PP? Our Wedding party (with their dates) is approx 35 people - our wedding coordinator said we can't make reservations until we arrive. Did you have trouble making reservations for your wedding party when you arrived? I am worried restaurants will be sold out especially on a weekend night.
  8. @@Maurindy2016 : That is a great question!!! I am torn! I am also trying to cut costs and really want to just gather somewhere but I wasn't sure how the Restaurants worked - like do we need reservations? etc... I am expecting approx 100 guests and if I have a welcome party at $28 per person it would be like paying for another wedding. I wish there was a cheaper option. I was thinking of having our wedding party meet us at the Stone Gazebo for a quick rehearsal, followed by treating all of our guests to a fire show on the beach at 7pm (this is the latest they can do a fire show unfortunately smack dab at dinner time!) After the fire show, I was hoping we could all gather to a restaurant together somewhere...is that lame? Do you brides have any other ideas? Does the hotel provide beach bags for guests to use? I am considering doing beach bags for welcome bags but I know sometimes hotels will provide them already for guests. Thanks all!
  9. Hi Finest Brides!!!! I have a few questions for those of you who have already had your wedding - CONGRATS!! 1. What does the wedding coordinator help you with on the day of? - Will she help tell your wedding party when to walk down the aisle and coordinate the ceremony timing? - Will she tell guests where to go for cocktail and reception? - Will she help you set up your guestbook or table centerpieces? - Will she help hand out programs? - Will she help you set up the seating chart? 2. Did you need the wedding coordinator present for your wedding rehearsal or did you just handle the rehearsal and order of operations yourselves? 3. I was told that the resort would charge $160 for 30 sparklers. Do you know of any other cheaper ideas forthe bride/grooms exit? IS this price pretty standard? I am trying to determine what all I need to do on my wedding day to help set up and what is included. Trying to be as stress free as possible on the actual day. Thanks so much!!!!
  10. @@AandM2015 - Congratulations!! How was your big day?? How did your makeup turnout? Would love to hear and tips you don't mind sharing. Thank you in advance!!
  11. @@Maurindy2016 My wedding is June 2016 as well! I am having trouble understanding the expense worksheet that Luzdary sent though. I am not exactly sure what to fill out. Does anyone know if "Tiffany chairs" are "Chevari Chairs"? Regarding group rates, we originally reached out to Destination Weddings but the group rate was higher and I didn't like the rule that our guests would have to book within 30 days or else me and my Fiance are stuck paying for the down payments on all of our reserved rooms. We are going to go directly through the hotel for group rates because they are cheaper than the numbers from DW. If anyone knows of a better route to ensure our guests good group rates, please let me know Did anyone do a Bonfire? If so, was it worth it? Did anyone do a mayan show or fire show for their guests? What is a good restaurant to do the rehearsal dinner at?
  12. @SusanMarie813 Thank you so much for your fast response!!!! Such a huge help! A few more questions if you don't mind 1. Was the stone gazebo windy for your ceremony? Myself and my BM's want to leave our hair down but are concerned about the wind factor. 2. Did you use the resort videographer? 3. Did you and your BM's get ready in your suite or in the small room next to the salon? 4. Are our guests allowed to wear shorts during the reception at sky bar?
  13. @@SusanMarie813 Congratulations!!!!! Your wedding pics and you look beautiful!!!! Questions: 1. Were mosquitos an issue during your sky bar reception? 2. Is it necessary to get a dance floor for sky bar reception? 3. I am considering having my ceremony at Stone Gazebo at 5:30PM, do you think that time is too late in the day to start? 4. Did you upgrade the lighting at sky bar or did you just use what they had? If you used what they had, what were your thoughts? Did pictures come out bright enough? 5. Was it miserably humid/hot for your guests to have all of your wedding events outside? I am considering having the cocktail indoors to give them an hour break. My wedding is in June 2016 Thank you so much for answering our questions!!
  14. Hiiiii everyone! So thankful I found this thread. My fiancé and I visited Mexico this week to check out 3 different resorts for our wedding. We picked Finest and just secured our June 5, 2016 date! We spent a few hours there and got to try their buffet for lunch - not bad - and briefly met Luzdary our wedding coordinator, and Raul. According to Raul they can no longer do bonfires due to laws changing. We are going to opt for a fire show during our welcome party instead. We are torn about having our ceremony, cocktail and reception all outdoors because it is so humid and hot. Has anyone been to or plan to have all wedding festivities outdoors? Any thoughts or lessons learned? Raul mentioned that the sky terrace can get really windy during the reception so that's another thing to keep in mind. Does anyone know the max occupancy for the sky terrace? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
