OMG ladies....here is the deal. I just had the most AMAZING wedding at Secrets Playa Mujeres and I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about it! The resort itself was absolutely spectacular (wonderful service, great food, nice drinks, etc) and all the wedding events were better than I could have ever imagined! Alejandra was phenomenal and made sure every part of the wedding went off without a hitch. Any of you ladies who have already gotten married here have any information or reviews on the spa there? Like for hair and make-up. I know it's included for the bride, but I'm nervous since I know nothing about it. I also wanted to let my bridesmaids get their hair and make-up done as well but I don't know how expensive that would be.

I am having my reception at the infinity pool which drops off into an ocean view. The couple of pictures I have seen of it look GORGEOUS! But yes the lighting is the major bummer here as none of the outdoor locations have good lighting and all of their lighting options are pretty pricey!

As far as decorations go for your reception...what all are you using? I know you said you are bringing quite a few things with you, but are you using anything from the resort or bringing it all? What lighting did you decide to use?

They definitely took a while to respond to me at first and I had quite the freak out about it, but Alejandra has been great now and responds very quickly when I have questions. I am also doing the gazebo for my ceremony and it is definitely a rooftop location that overlooks the beach. I am honestly not sure how private the actual location is...hopefully it's at least semi-blocked off or out of the major traffic. Let me know if you decide to get married here! I'd love another bride to bounce ideas off of, since there are not alot of brides writing about this resort!!!

I finally got in contact with them and my date is booked! Our communication has really improved, so I am significantly less stressed now!!! Thanks for your help! Any more information you or any other brides have on weddings at this resort would be SO helpful!

I have gotten one response only from the email [email protected] so maybe I'll shoot them an email at the one you have. Should I be worried about the staffing issues? Do you think it will affect my overall wedding? My fiancé is really excited about this resort, but I don't want to be stressed during the entire planning experience if they can't get it together.

Hi! I am new to this site, but so far I love all the info! I am attempting to schedule my wedding here at Secrets Playa Mujeres for April 2016, however have been VERY frustrated with their delay in replying to emails regarding booking the date. I am even using a travel agent and we have been unable to get anywhere for several weeks! Any suggestions or tips on dealing with them?? Thanks!
