  1. Hey @@Mrsdelagarza01 ! Congratulations! I am also leaning towards having dinner at the steak house because I've seen a couple reviews that said it was really good and I don't want to have to pay any extra. So far we have 20 guests that have booked but over half of our wedding party still needs to book so my guess is that we will be right around 40-50 too. I haven't looked at reserving the tequila bar for the reception--how much extra does that cost? My planning is going...we are also have a reception back home so that's where a majority of our money is going to be spent. I just booked Gonzalo Verdeja for photography and videography. His website is http://www.gvphotographer.com/. I love his photography style and that is the one thing I didn't want to go cheap on because your photos are the only thing you will have forever...you know? He did give me a really good deal though-- 2 photographers for the day of the wedding and a Videographer for $4000 total which includes 6 hours of photography and videography, all rights to the photos which he will put in an online album for us to download, a coffee book table and then a 5-7 minute video from the day. How much is the hotel photographer? I haven't seen anything from them yet... Did you email them or did they contact you? And how far out did they contact you? Are you doing any extras?
  2. @@jenna32schap I am so anxious to hear how everything turned out for you!!! Hope it went well and can't wait to hear all about it!
  3. @@jenna32schap Thanks for all this information-- I haven't heard from the wedding coordinator yet and they said she usually doesn't contact brides until 6 months out so hopefully I'll hear from her by then and if not, I'll email her for sure! I've been doing tons of research of photographers in the area but that's because I haven't gotten any recommendations from the resort yet. Good for you though with the videographer! You'll have to (PLEASE?) let me know how it turns out and if you are happy with it. If so, I will definitely book them rather than bringing someone with. How is the pricing for the videographer? That's exactly what we plan on doing except for the Tequila Bar but that could very well change once I talk with the wedding coordinator. Are you doing a reception back in the states at all? We are so I don't want to spend a ton of money in Mexico but still want to have a great time & make sure its beautiful too
  4. @@jenna32schap I just got pricing from Juan Carlos Tapia & I think I might go with him for photography...I really like his style and think he does a great job from what I can see on his website. For two photographers for four hours and all copyrights to all photos he takes its only $1800 which isn't bad from other quotes I have received. What about you? As for videography, I really want it but you are right- it's super expensive. I did get a quote from someone in St. Louis which was super reasonable but I still can't decide if I'm going to fork the money out for it or not. I think it would be awesome to have though and play at our reception back in the states. What photographer did you end up going with? And have you talked details with anyone yet? Are you getting married on the beach? Where are you doing your reception after?
  5. I am getting married in Cabo in March 2016 and wasn't sure if any of you ladies have review for these photographers or videographers? I am REALLY wanting a videographer!
  6. @@jenna32schap I would LOVE to keep in touch with you to find out how your wedding and photos turn out! I am getting married at Riu Santa Fe in March 2016. Are you doing videography and photography?
  7. @@Victoriabride I will probably just do our reception at the steakhouse so that we don't have to pay an arm and a leg for food, etc. Also, we are actually having a reception back home in STL 3 weeks after our ceremony so I don't know that we will do speeches in Mexico or not...haven't decided! I am doing a beach ceremony though and am excited to email the wedding coordinator at the resort to see what options I have there. Are you doing videography too? I looked into flying our photographer down and its totally doable but videography is SO expensive and its the one thing I really want for the ceremony!
  8. Hello Ladies! I am planning a wedding at the Riu Santa Fe in Cabo March 11, 2016 and want to hear all of your thoughts and information! Did you or are you: Bringing your own photographer Having a beach ceremony Private reception Using their hairdressers Are there any add-on's I should know about?
