@@TinkerSofi Yeah I'm hoping that she just takes it in enough and that with the lace up back I can still make it work. I'm just nervous about the hem. She went so fast with everything. I know she's a professional and knows what she's doing but going that fast makes me nervous! I'm so happy for you that it worked out that it just needed to be shorted for you. That was lucky! You look stunning in it though!

@@TinkerSofi Just saw this now. Thanks for checking it out for me. I was definately going to go there if it hadn't been for my awesome find this weekend. Now my decision will be finding a veil. But since the store I got my dress in is closing I'm thinking, when I go to pick it up at the end of summer I will see if their veils are on sale even more!
-
For me, the store is closing so they just said they were going to do the alterations before the store closes at the end of the summer. I dont think if it needed to be taken in anymore it would cost very much so i'm hoping if I lose 10lbs it really doesn't affect the dress too much. I know that my height wont change (unfortunately haha) so the hem should be good.
-
@breezie Have you got the dress back yet? I'm really curious to hear how it goes. I just got my dress this weekend and the first set of alterations is going to be done by the end of the summer, then I get to keep the dress from there on out. I'm worried because I still want to lose 10lbs before my wedding and I'm worried I'll have to have it taken in again so I'm hoping this little shop you found works out so if I need a second round of alterations I can go there.

I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!!!!!!! Omg! Thank you for all your positive vibes! I got the dress I wanted and had my heart set on. I can't believe I actually was able to get that gorgeous first dress I tried on. I tried on two dresses at this store because as soon as I got back into the Sophia Tolli dress I didn’t want anything else. The first dress was also a Sophia Tolli dress and had the most gorgeous bottom of the dress but the upper half of the dress just wasn't my style. My dress is amazing! Truly suits me. Makes me look taller too which is such a bonus since I'm only 5"1. This dress was originally around $2100 at the first store I went to last weekend. This weekend in this clearance sale, I got the dress for.... $950!! I'm so happy. It’s still at the very top end of my budget which I didn't really want to spend but I couldn't say no to it. It needs to be taken in a fair amount, a few pieces of lace touched up and hemmed a lot, and then it has the lace up back and I’m having the panel taken down to revel some back behind the lace up! Alterations plus cleaning cost $380! I feel like I stole this dress! I have no problem buying a dress someone else has tried on, especially since I know it’s my dress. I only have one picture right now but I'll post more tonight (they are all on my mums camera and I'm at work).

@@JoannaBanana that's so good. I feel like we booked the Sirenis at a bad time especially considering how cheap @@calgarybride2015's package was. @@vancouverpetunia thanks for the tip! I like number 2 and 3 the most but the first wedge makes the most sense. Maybe I'll find something else sparkly elsewhere. Good to know about the heel things though. Glad I didn't waste money. @@Wafflesmom thanks!!! I'm so excited to try on dresses again! Fingers crossed I can check the dress off my list this weekend! So excited! Good to know! I was really thinking of two shoes. I suppose that will depend on the type of dress I get and how much I get hemmed. I'm short so I want some height. @@JoannaBanana haha yeah i totally get your point. I love the wrap around style of number 2 most so it's tough. If number 1 had that wrap around strap I'd be sold on them! All I know is I want lots of sparkle. I'm super princess girly hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@acw271011 @@calgarybride2015 @@TinkerSofi Thanks for picking. #2 is also my favorite. I originally wanted the wedge shoes because I could wear them for both the ceremony and the reception but I love the look of #2 way better. I might have to keep looking. @@Wafflesmom Yes we are having our ceremony on the beach and then the reception in a palapa with a hard floor. I'm so torn though. I wonder if any other brides have used those things you put on the bottom on heals to make it have a wider base so you dont sink into the ground. I wonder if they would work for sand. You got a great deal on your dress. 40% off is awesome. Thats what i'm hoping for on Sunday. I know that the store's clearance sale has dresses up to 80% off and that could mean some major savings, so my fingers are crossed so tight that the one I want is there on a huge discount and fits me haha. Thanks for the reassurance on my budget though. even on say yes to the dress canada girls budgets are riduculous. I just can't justify spending $1000+ on a dress I'll wear once or twice (at home reception). Just doesn't make sense to me. When starting off our marriage I can think of so many other things to put that money towards.

Beach Wedding Bouquet Help Needed

@@TinkerSofi Yeah thats fair enough. I did my measurements last night and matched them up to the Sophia Tolli dress size chart and Looks like i'd be around a 4-6 so the size 10 might not be completely out of my reach. @@LeighC I wouldn't worry about your dress at all. It seriously looks stunning on you. I had the opposite reaction to a dress last weekend. I loved it on the hanger and thought omg this will be the one (it had a detachable tulle skirl and a blingy belt and the whole under dress was lace). I thought omg this is perfect! Put it on and absolutely hated it. No one liked it haha. And I wouldn't worry. My mum and I will go shopping and she always gives me weird looks when i see things to try on and she's like well thats strange and then I put it on and we love it. So as long as you love the way you look and feel in that dress then nothing else matters. Those shoes are gorgeous. I'm a little suprirsed that they cost $150! I think you could find something that looks super similar for cheaper. Do you have a Le Chateau? They have some amazing bridal shoes in there. I am going to get these sparkly wedges I found there last weekend. Or what about Payless shoes? They ahve very similar shoes to those ones i'm pretty sure and they usually have really good prices. Personally I'd look in local stores before ordering online. What if they aren't comfortable?! Ah! http://www.lechateau.com/style/jump/Jewelled+Sandals/category/cat38922536

@@acw271011 @@Danielle1 Good thinking. I found the exaxt measurements online for the sophia tolli dresses and I'm going to measure myself to see how much of a difference a size 10 is to what I am. I know that the dress is part of the clearance sale but I just don't know how much it's on sale for. Its a $2000 dress so it would have to be a big sale for me to purchase it. @@calgarybride2015 I'm definately going to check out Blissful Bridal if Sunday doesn't go well. @@calgarybride2015 Good thinking about getting my "entourage" to run around finding dresses haha. When we went for BM appointment she was working with us and a bride and didn't even clip the dresses, I had to do that for my BMs. I'm thinking that if my luck doesn't appear in Edmonton on Sunday then I will book a few different shops for next Friday. It will be nice because my other BM is back from her Euro trip this week so she will be able to join us for any appointments next week hopefully, and my sister is a teacher and done after this week so she can go with me during the week (since I took time off too). Feeling hopeful! @@acw271011 I contacted Jennifer at TLMB and she said that my number one pick - #3 in the pictures (Sophia Tolli Y21246) isn't in stock at the moment but she is getting a bunch of Sophia Tolli dresses in at the end of this week. I know that the store in Edmonton that is closing has the dress but in a size 10 and I'm probably too small for it. But if TLMB has it for a reasonable price I might just have to pull the trigger. I saw another Sophia Tolli dress on there http://thelastminutebride.com/products/sophia-tolli-y11560-ibis I love it but its still out of my price range so I'm also going to see if I can find this one in the sale in Edmonton this weekend!

Thanks @@TinkerSofi. Yeah I think my favorites are #1 & #3. I will definately be using JJsHouse as an ultimate last resort if I really can't find anything. I don't like the idea of wearing a bridesmaids dress as I want the full bridal experiance. I'm not really a "simple" person. I love sparkle and flow and all that beautiful stuff that you get with wedding dresses. I've read some reviews from JJsHouse and its been very mixed. The only thing that draws me to it is the fact that my mum bought her mother of the bride dress there and its seriously gorgeous! I'm going to Ethos in Edmonton on Sunday as they are having a closing clearance with up to 80% off dresses. I'm hoping I can find something sparkly and just amazing for really cheap! I asked if they had dress #3 there on sale and they said yes!! But only problem is its a size 10 and I feel like it would be expensive to be taken in to my size. Thanks so much @@calgarybride2015! I've been checking out David's this week as my appointment is on the 3rd there. I've made a list of the dresses I love but only problem is whats online and whats in store are generally different and different prices. Also when we went for bridesmaids dresses with style numbers writted down, they didnt pull any for them and I even asked! So my hopes aren't high. But I'm feeling hopeful about being able to find a dress I love in my price range again. Yeah it was strange, this store even said no phones allowed. The woman there I feel like was Polish or Russian or something and a very stern woman. My sister was too scared to even sneak a photo with her phone haha. Thanks @@Smellsey! That was the last dress I tried on and it was $1400 + $450 alterations (the bottom is really complicated and each little piece had to be hemmed individually and I wanted a sweetheart neckline put in). Just way too out of my budget unfortunately I just can't justify spending this much on a dress that I'm going to wear once. I wish I had been on the ball and told the consultant right off the get go that I didn't want to spend any more than $1000, but unfortunately I got caught up in the moment. At the same time i'm glad it happened because I was able to find the style I liked and know I know what I'm looking for, whereas I wasn't sure going into it. I'm feeling more hopeful now that I've been looking around online and what not. Strange @@JoannaBanana. Yeah it was a really weird place and they wouldn't even let you take your phone out. I told my sister to sneak a picture for me and she was too scared the lady would take her phone away haha. The lady was a stern older lady. Kind of intimidating so I don't blame her for not wanting to be sneaky haha. Its funny though becuase the first store let us take pictures and what I thought was my first pick from the day ended up being my 3rd after seeing the pictures. Just goes to show that you need to think about it and not make a decision on the spot. With that being said, I'm going to Ethos in Edmonton on Sunday for a closing clearance with up to 80% off and I know I will have to be decisive (something I'm not good at) and walk out with a dress if I want a good deal. Fingers crossed that they will have something in my price point that is absolutely goregeous with lots of sparkle haha.
