@@TNT2015 Thats a great deal! Can't pass up a deal that good. I had contemplated going that route too but I was too nervous. Can't wait to see what yours looks like! Thats funny though about convincing your FI to have photos taken. Agreed! You'd probably like Tough Mudder then. The obstacles are really cool and challenging. Its a race that seriously is all about team work though. You aren't timed so they call it a "challenge". The goal is simply to complete the race. And it doesn't matter if you know anyone doing the race at the same time as you because every single person helps everyone. Its a really cool atmosphere.

@@TinkerSofi I don't think people will care if it's professional or not. It's more the idea of it and having fun taking the pictures I think. It's a great idea. Have fun figuring out the logistics this weekend. I'm sure your dad and you will take some fun pictures while trying it all out! Maybe I could make some cute starfish characters (not like Patrick from spongebob haha) and put them on my hand outs if I make them! It's a good idea! Keeps things fun and light hearted! @@TNT2015 yup we did tough mudder last September and signed up right after to do it again this year. Call me crazy! Haha. I was almost in tears before going through electro-shock therapy. I was so terrified. My fiancé and his brother went through it twice to encourage me to do it. It's not actually as bad as you think it will be. The whole race is more mental in my opinion. Good luck with the 3 Spartans. I think Spartans are more physical than tough mudder (probably because of the burpees). That's a good idea to have 2 dresses. I couldn't fit that in the budget or else I may have done the same thing. Will you do a trash the dress in one then? It's funny you said you looked short in one similar to mine. I'm only 5'1 and I felt my dress made me look taller haha. @@calgarybride2015 tough mudder was in Drumheller last year and I believe it is again. The race in Red Deer is Mud Hero. That one was so much fun!! You literally end up covered in mud head to toe. My Uncle is and RCMP in Red Deer and he was supervising the race so I was trying to give him a muddy hug! @@Cynlee143 I haven't gotten that far into my planning yet. I will be going with the adventure team (or whatever they are called). They are what the hotel recommends. I'm sure their photos will be just fine. And I liked their prices. I'd recommend asking @@calgarybride2015 as she got married there in January and her photos were great! @@TinkerSofi! Those props for the photo booth are adorable! They will look so good once everything is put together in the day and I'm positive your guests will love it! So much fun! The brochures are so cute too! I love the little birdies! Such a great idea. If my guest list keeps growing I might do a brochure too! It's a good idea! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@acw271011 I love the shoes and veil! Very gorgeous! The veil is the type I'm looking for with the sparkle. Do you mind me asking how much it cost? Maybe I'll have to go to David's at the end of the summer and take a look. Looks like everything is coming together nicely for you now! So exciting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@acw271011 Ah! I thought I was following your thread! How could I not be!? Crazy! Any ways, I'm updated on it all now since the last time I read through. I love the starfish craft you did! It gives me some great ideas. I'm going to start making my chair hangers this weekend/ next week, and I was just thinking of hot glue gunning them to my tassle things but the broach seems like a great idea! And like I've said before, I'm so happy you got your dress! Its absolutely gorgeous!!! The keyhole back is absolutely amazing. I had considered doing a dress like that but I didnt like the idea of straps. I think you will look stunning on your special day!

@@TNT2015 Aw your engagement story is so cute. I love that it was meaningful to your lives together and that the ring and meaning too. My FI and I also love to do Mud runs. We’ve done Spartan twice, mud hero, and Tough Mudder. We are doing Tough Mudder again this year (I’m not sure why I’m doing it, it scares me to death haha). Your save the dates and Invitations are gorgeous! I also used Cards and Pockets to build mine! Glad that yours are cheap to mail. I added a silver starfish charm to all of mine and I’m scared to bring mine to the post office next week :S Your bridesmaids dresses are cute though! I think they will look really good in navy! I am also doing long dresses and I basically told my bridesmaids that they can wear any black wedge they want. The joy of long dresses! OMG! Your dress is insanely gorgeous! I tried on a dress similar but I felt too constricted in the leg area. I wanted to be confortable dancing. I told the dress consultant that in that dress I would only be dancing the robot all night hahaha. But I think the dress you picked is so gorgeous and elegant. It will look amazing on the beach! As for alterations, I got mine in a store closing so the consultant (who is also a dress designer and seamstress) is doing the alterations right away. It makes me nervous because I’m still 7 months away from my wedding. I’ve heard the normal is to wait 3 months prior to your wedding to get the alterations done. Can’t wait to read more!

Meandhim - Grand Palladium Bavaro - Nov 2015
yycbride2016 replied to Meandhim's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
@@Meandhim I finally got a chance to sit down and go through your planning thread! It’s so great! I’m sorry you had so many issues getting the dates, etc. What a bummer and stressful experience that must have been. Now I’m hoping it won’t happen to me haha. Your engagement story is actually quite cute! I love that it was still a surprise for you and bonus, you got to pick your own ring! That’s awesome. And it’s gorgeous too btw! I love the favors as message in a bottle. I’m doing that as my guest book. But I was thinking of having the tiny bottles from the dollarama as my place cards for seating. They are so cute! Your dresses are also super pretty! I think they will look so elegant on the beach with your colors and theme. Having a second dress is so cool! And your reception dress is really fun and flirty! Love it! How did 21 day fix go? My goal is to lose 10lbs in 7 months haha. For some reason this past year I’ve been out of my regular groove and put on 10 lbs. This is so frustrating. I have the 21 day fix containers (from Insanity Max 30), I just haven’t ever been really diligent using them. I can’t see to find the discipline with them. I love them though. They make it so much easier than guessing. Good luck with your legal ceremony! Can’t wait to read more -
@@LeighC I'm sorry your guest list keeps growing. Its frustrating when everyone thinks they have a say in your wedding and how it should be done and who should be there. My mum kept adding people to my list and it grew from like 60 to about 70. Luckily I was able to knock people off after the save the dates (people who wouldn't give me their correct address, moving out of the country, just flat out said no). Hopefully your guest list drama will come to an end soon. The invitations look so pretty! They will look great once they are in your colors! Can't wait to see all of your other creations

@@TinkerSofi Good thinking! I'm going to keep my eye out for a previously owned viel as well as the one I tried on in the store incase it goes on sale even more! My back up plan is to order one of Etsy. I've favorited a few that I like that are all reasonably priced so thats good. I feel like I have to have a veil now that I've tried them on. @@beckys98 Good idea! Yes I will make sure that we mention the message in a bottle numberous times. We are waiting to find out if a close family friend is going to come to the wedding before asking him to be MC and if so I'm sure he will make everyone line up and write a message for the bottle haha. We are also going to put it out at our At Home Reception so That way we should have lots of messages to read on our 1st anniversary! @@calgarybride2015 That is so cute to have a time capsule to look back on 5 years after you get married! I'm sure it will be so amazing when the two of you get to open it up together and remember all the exciting things that are in there. We will definately be reminding our guests multiple times to write a message for the bottle though. Maybe I should make them write a message to get a wedding favor haha. @@LY0811 Aw thanks! I am so in love with my dress! I keep staring at pictures of it and just hoping for the next 7 months to fly by so I can wear it haha. I'm sorry your first appointment went bad. I didn't have the best experience with David's Bridal with BM dresses. They didnt seem to care that we were there and wouldn't help us find the dresses I and looked up prior to the appointment. I get that they are a big box store but they need to work on their customer service. This is one of the biggest moments in planning a wedding for a bride! It has to be special. I'm sure you will find a dress! You'll have to show us what you pick! Sorry you also had MOH trubles. I think this is common isse with DW But in the end everything always works itself out!

@@snswedding2016 Aw it looks like you two had a fantastic time at the U2 concert! Thats so good that you got to take time out of your busy schedules to spend time together! Those kids dresses are so adorable! I can see why you couldn't resist. But its good that you've got 2 now because then you know that on the day at least one of them will fit her! The colors for the bridesmaids dresses are super cute! I agree with @@TinkerSofi that the middle color is a more romatic soft color. I think it would work really well whith everything you've done. I'm sure all the dresses will look amazing!

@@psantam2 Hi not sure where you are located, but I just bought my Sophia Tolli dress in a clearance sale at a store in Canada that was closing down. I got my dress for $950 and its regular $2100. Might be worth calling stores and asking if they have the dress and see if they have sales going on. Right now is a good time to look because most people get married in the summer so they will already have their dresses for this season.
-
@@acw271011 It's because the store is closing so they are trying to get rid of all inventory. It was 50% off. But I think if its still there in August it will be 70% off. So I'm going to keep my eye on it! Update: Not too much to update here. I feel like things have been slowing down now with my wedding planning. I am almost done making my wedding invitations! I have about 4 left to make. I ran out of ribbon to tie on the starfish charms right at the end of making them all haha. They look really cute with they are all done and packaged up with a teal starfish stamp on the back of the envelope. I haven't given out lots yet but just to people as I see them (since there is no rush seeing as my wedding is over 7 months away). But so far the feedback I've been getting is very positive. Everyone says they are really cute! Hard work pays off! haha I had another Michaels extravaganza the other day though haha. instead of doing the raffia starfish chair hangers that I intended on making, I found these burlap tassels ($3) that are a little bit smaller than the raffia starfish chair hangers. I'm going to tie some teal burlap string and starfish onto each of them. I have 8 of them (so hopefully I'll have no more than 4 rows down the aisle. Then I will re-use these for the dinner on the wedding party chairs! I also found cute little chalkboards to hang on our chairs that will say Mrs. and Mr. for my FI and I! They were only like $1 at Michaels. I'll post pictures once I actually make everything. It will probably be a fair amount of work since I have no idea what I'm doing haha. We've also decided that as a guest book we are going to do a "Message in a bottle". I found the PERFECT teal colored bottle that looks like glass but is actually plastic which is great for travel. It unscrews in the middle so will easily be able to read everyones messages. We are going to put a note for people to leave us a message in the bottle for us to read on our 1year anniversary! It should be really cute! I'm going to jazz up the bottle by adding some burlap string to it. I'll post pictures once its made. My bridesmaids dresses arrived on Friday too! They are so nice! I can't wait to see all of the girls in their dresses. And my mum was such an angel! She paid for the bridesmaids dresses for the girls! She wanted to do something nice for them since they have to spend so much money to come to Mexico for the wedding. They don't know that their dresses have been paid for yet so I'm excited to tell them!! Annnnnddddd.... all that bridesmaid drama?! When I saw her at my dress appointment she was talking about coming and saying she was actually going to go for longer (like 10 days or 2 weeks). So I'm so excited that I don't have to stress about that any more! Smooth sailing from here on out!

Finally have a chance to get back on here and post again! @@Danielle1 Thank you so much! I’m so happy. One less thing to worry about! @@acw271011 Yeah! I love the second veil too! I’m hoping when I go back at the end of summer to pick up the dress that veil will still be there and at a large discount. She was willing to give it to me for $100 but I knew places like Etsy and eBay sell them cheaper. @ Thanks! It was totally a say yes to the dress moment. I never really understood why brides cry when they find the right dress but I get it now. It was so exciting to know it was my dress! @@TinkerSofi Thanks! Yeah it’s a similar type of style to your dress that I was going for. I love that it makes me look taller than I am with the lace trickling down the dress. Agreed on the veil. I’m hoping I can get a good deal on this one when I go back to pick up my dress at the end of summer. I just love how the tulle bottom of the dress goes with the veil perfectly!

@@TinkerSofi That really sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that stuff has gone missing sometimes I seriously hate the mail. It doesn't matter who the courier is they all suck. I bought the iPhone 6 Plus back in September and luckily someone was home because they never rang the doorbell and just left my $1000 phone sitting outside !! I was furious. Hopefully your jewelry just shows up in time so you don't have to waste any money. As for the hashtag, we are struggling with this too. We will decide on our hashtag closer to the date to make sure it doesn't get taken before the wedding. I'd pick something personal or even just your names and the year. Thank you everyone! I'm so happy I was able to find this dress at such a good deal. It marks that first dress appointment of trying dresses out of my price range well worth it or else I wouldn't have known about this dress and fallen in love with it! As promised here are a few more pictures of the dress and a few with a veil! Love the idea of having a veil now when prior to trying them on, I wasn't sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
