  1. @@snswedding2016 OMG! These photos are so beautiful! You guys are such a gorgeous couple! You should put all these photos up around your house! I'm sure all your guests will enjoy looking at these photos during your reception! So beautiful, your friend did an amazing job shooting these!
  2. @@JoannaBanana I love your invitations. They look so cute and colorful! I love the textured paper! All the hard work will be worth it when people comment on how much they loved your invitations! Make sure you keep one for yourself!
  3. Your reception dress is gorgeous! I love it. I'm sure you can fix the boning in it to make it stay up better. What a great deal though!
  4. @@deecol Yeah no kidding! Most years for x-mas we make our groomsman a "workout gift basket" so this is a kind of similar idea! Such a good one.
  5. @@deecol This is so true. I've actually gotten a few things there at 70% for our wedding and you don't end up feeling too bad. I just told my FI "Don't hate me but Michaels is having a huge sale and I'm going after work" hahaha.
  6. @@deecol Thats so awsome! That would have been perfect for my FI to his best man (brother). I'll have to show him this. He'll get a kick out of it.
  7. @@ashhtayy Haha you have to be a real sweet talker. My FI knows how much of a princess I am. Actually When we picked my engagement ring i didn't think I'd want a wedding band because it's a bigger ring to begin with and I have small hands. My Fi was shocked when I ended up wanting bands. His mum has a very similar ring to mine and has two bands with it and I love it! I think thats what changed my mind. Each band was going to cost $800 and my FI was subtly hinting that that was too much given the cost of my Eing. I wasn't even sold on them anyways. When we found rings for half that price we were sold. Plus once I saw how good it looked, how could I?! haha. I"m pretty sure I'll be able to sneak in the second ring once we're married onto my finger haha. @@calgarybride2015 That will be so pretty! It'll be nice that you will have them soldered together! I considered that but I want to have the bands to wear when we go on holidays without having my flashy eRing. Plus they are really cute on their own! @@deecol Ahhh yes I just saw this. Its so dangerous! I'm probably going to go tonight after work. Luckily I'm working from home and i'm like 5 min away from a Michaels haha. Thanks for the heads up!
  8. Thanks everyone! I'm so happy with how they look! Now I just want time to hurry up so I can wear them haha!
  9. I got my wedding bands today!! I got two but I'm pretty sure my fiancé isn't going to let me wear the second one until our one year anniversary unfortunately haha. They just look so pretty altogether! I didn't get the matching bands to my engagement ring because they actually stood up too tall and hid the detail on the profile of my ring. When I saw how dainty these rings were I was sold (and the fact that they were half the price helped). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. @@TinkerSofi Sorry to hear about the technician and not being able to get a refund. That is so frustrating. As for saving money by going with false eye lashes I think you could totally do it. They are so cheap and you can buy them in bulk. I'd suggest buying a pack of them now and try them out a few times before your actual wedding so that you get the hang of wearing them. I wear them on special occasions or when we are on holidays (in Mexico). You can also get the falsies mascara to wear them with. I wear the falsies or collosal volume mascara and my eyelashes are really big! Everyone thinks I wear falsies all the time. So imagine that plus false eyelashes! Definately worth a try since is an inexpensive fix! Good luck!
  11. @@TNT2015 OH thats gorgeous! I love it! That looks like it will be much easier to dance in and enjoy your self without feeling restricted! Good for you for getting it at such a great price. I almost bought my gown online too but I chickened out. Can't wait to see pictures of it when you get it in the mail!
  12. @@snswedding2016 Exactly. I mean yeah we could drive home after their wedding (1hr drive) but we want to be able to enjoy ourselves. And really, these two aren't the "beach" type. So they could have just politely declined and all would be good. Part of me wishes I hadn't gone looking for the tweet. I get so frustrated everytime I think about it. Like Everyone is entitled to make a mistake and its my day so she can just not come. I actually hope they don't come to my at home reception now.
  13. @@snswedding2016 Thanks! I'm happy with how the projects have turned out. Not sure there is really much more to do actually! Feel pretty on the ball for being 7 months out! yay! And I kow right?! The price thing really bugged me. Like her wedding is out of town too (1 hour away) and we have to pay for a hotel. So just grow up already! missing one letter is no big deal. I think she is just mad that we are doing a destination wedding probably. So rude and immature. haha @ I love that starbucks video too! So funny!
  14. @ Thanks! I’m really pleased with how the message in a bottles turned out. I want to place them on a little tray of sand at the resort! And I know right. She’s a real piece of work. I had no idea. I would think it was a joke if it wasn’t for the fact that she made a point to bring up the cost to come to our wedding. My Fiance and I are still frustrated that someone could be that rude. That’s so good to hear about Juan Carlo! I’m excited to actually just pick one and put a deposit down so I can put the stress of photography behind us and not worry about price increases again :S @@Wafflesmom Yeah I’m hoping we can pick our photographer this week or next so that I don’t have to stress about prices going up again haha. And thanks! I’m no Martha Stuart but I’m getting there haha. And yeah I can’t believe she would get that mad about missing an E on her name. The worst is when they mailed us a wedding invitation to their wedding they deliberately spelt both of our names wrong. Like how rude is that. I know my friend is quirky but not rude. So I feel like it was her doing. I’ve wanted to retaliate so much but my FI is keeping me level headed about it telling me she’s not worth it. @@calgarybride2015 Thanks! I’m pleased how it all turned out. I actually think after reading everyone’s comments I might just hand write the rest of the seating cards. I think it might make it more personal. Plus it will just go in the garbage at the end of the night anyways haha. Haha yeah she is really special and I had no idea she was at all like that. So rude! It’s not like I called her his ex-girlfriend or something right?! She needs to get over herself. I laughed so hard at what your husband said! I don’t think they’ll be coming to Mexico (thank goodness) so I won’t have to worry about that. It’ll just be hard to not glare at her or say something to her the next time I see her. @@ashhtayy Thanks! It was so random that I had just finished off the PB so I was like CRAFT TIME! Hahahaha. My FI thinks I’m crazy. I went asking his family for empty glass PB jars afterwards They all have plastic jars L I know, it’s like you can decorate a whole wedding at the Dollarama! How great! I’ve found so many cute things. I think I even made most of my OOT bags from there (I’ll post those eventually haha). I also agree with the handwriting. I think I’m going to hand write them all after reading everyone’s comments. I thought it looked bad but reality it’s not horrible considering people will only take one look at them haha. And yeah unfortunately we are still going to their wedding. I want to see my friend get married, even if it is to that woman. Both my FI and I contemplated not going after seeing that tweet but we don’t want to stoop to her level. It’s probably not worth it.
  15. Update: Photography: I'm strongly leaning towards Lancelotti Photography right now. I've emailed over 10 different photographers and sat down and looked at portfolios with my FI. We narrowed it down to Lancelotti and a Canadian couple called Jasmin & Matt. Both photographers offer $1600 for a full day of coverage. So once I factor in the Vendor fee and day passes It will hopefully be just under $2000USD. I really don't want to go over that since the original budget was $1500 for photography. Decorations: I'm at it again with that darn DIY bug haha. my first project is candle jars! Now that I know how to tie fish net like rope I'm going to decorate any empty glass jars I get over time. These will be used for our AHR so I don't have to worry about the weight of the glass jars. Plus I thought they would be cute to put candles in on the deck in the summer! This jar is an empty peanut butter jar! I feel so crafty haha. Next I worked on my bridesmaids & groomsmens gifts. The jewelery I got for the girls didn't come in a box because it was an inventory clearance and I think they were closing down. I was going to get these cute nautical jewelry boxes from Icing but for $14 each I didn't think it was worth it considering how much I've already spent. I found these blank boxes at the dollarama and found some burlap and ribbon to decorate them! I also did this for the groomsmen's ties and pocket squares. This is how they turned out! Then I worked on my escort cards and placement cards. I'm super happy with how these turned out! The escort cards are message in a bottle themed and I found these perfect little glass jars at the dollarama and I bought some sea colored stones (or concrete as it said on the tube). I added some clear crystals and a seashell and poped in the note that has each persons name and table number. I might have to make a few more before the wedding happens so I made sure to buy a bunch of spare ones just in case. As for the placement cards I found these cards at the dollarama (found lots of things there this weekend haha), 40 for $1! So this is just a tester card. I'm going to see if I can run it through the printer to make the calligraphy nicer since I'm not that great at it. But I will use my starfish stamp on each one. Rant: Ok so a friend of mine from University is getting married this Septemer and I think because we invited them to our wedding they felt obliged to last minute invite us. Which is totally fine and I'm actually really excited to see my friend get married. I don't know his fiance very well but she seems like such a quite sweet girl.... Apparently I was wrong. A friend told me over the weekend that this guy's fiance had tweeted on twitter about my save the dates. I went on the hunt for it and when I found it I was so appauled and shocked. I wanted to instantly un-invite her to our wedding. I couldnt believe someone would be so rude. I spelt her name wrong but c'mon I barely know her and you would think her being a bride too should know how much work it is to label 100 envelopes and not make a mistake. SERIOUSLY?!?!? Now I'm wondering if I spelt her name right on the actual wedding invitation. I'm keepping my eye out for another rude remark...
  16. @@breezie I've seen this topic come up on a calgary bridal facebook page and a lot of brides suggested buying a groupon. I think it ends up being under $300 with a groupon.
  17. @@Wafflesmom Awww those are so amazing! I love the wine bottle labels! Super cute and creative! Well done!
  18. @@calgarybride2015 Thank you! I am going to check out her stuff and reach out to her this weekend to get some quotes. I'm starting to get quotes back from all these different people i've reached out to. The best I have found is $1600. Fingers crossed i'll get a great deal! @@krystalball That's great info! Thank you so much! My preference is to just pay a photographer in Mexico intead of paying to bring one from Canada. But if I can save money i'll do what ever I can!
