  1. Ahh your stuff is so amazing! I love the door hangers. I might just have to make some myself since I don't have very many guests! I love the idea and they are so cute. Well done. The I spy game is such a great idea! I wanted to make a mad libs game for our guests to play but I couldn't get it right for some reason. Good thinking though! I'm sure your guests will have so much fun with that! I love your cake idea! I pinned that cake too since my theme is starfish! I am considering using my real starfish on my cake because the fake ones seem so expensive. I also love your card box. So many people have one and I never really considered it. For like 24 people I'm not sure I need it. But maybe for my at home reception. I've even seen some cute boxes as the dollarama! I love what you've done so far! Can't wait to see more of your creations and ideas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. @@TinkerSofi Thanks! Thats exactly what I was thinking. I originally had 1 long head table in my plan with 3 tables for guests and i felt it looked empty. I think if I get some more guests signing up to come within the next 4 months then I'll keep the wedding party up front but I love the idea that the bridal party can at least talk to everyone at the table instead of just the people on their left or right. And yeah I'm considering myself very lucky now that my dj price is so much cheaper than everyone else. I guess it wasn't that much of a deal breaker after all haha.
  3. @ Wow ok that doesn't make me feel so bad anymore haha. I think its about $57/hour for the dj (depending on the exchange rate).
  4. @@TinkerSofi Your wedding looks like it was perfect! Exactly how you had planned. I'm so happy for you and your husband! How exciting!! I love all the decor you had with your package, it really added a nice touch to the whole atmosphere. The location also looked perfect! it had a tropical elegance! It sounds like the whole day was even better than you had hoped. I'm glad there wasn't too much stress for either of you! I'm glad to hear that the Wedding DJ app worked out great for you! I even told my bridesmaid who is getting married in a year about it and she wants to use it. I was almost going to buy it but my wedding coordinator just told me that my resort now no longer offers a sound system rental. Its DJ or no music. I'm really mad at that because the rental was only $40 and now the dj will cost about $250+ Oh well. I can maybe use the app for my at home reception. Congrats again and I hope you start to feel better soon! Time to start packing for your new love nest! EDIT: I actually had a question I forgot... I noticed that with your seating arrangement you and Juan sat alone together at the top of the reception area. Did you have your wedding party at one table together? I was going to do a long table for the wedding party but now after seeing your setup I'm considering that option...
  5. I love it! The colors are so good! I think your guests will love it on the cups!
  6. Ahhh This is so exciting! I'm so happy for you and to be honest... jealous! haha. I want my 6 months to hurry up so I can experience what you have. I'm sorry you got sick early on. I am going to take Dukoral before we go. I think you take it for 2 weeks prior to a vacation and it helps prevent you from getting sick. My future in-laws took it before traveling Asia about a year and a half ago and they said they never felt sick during their whole trip (1 month long). Your hair and makeup were absolutely stunning! I might save the pictures of your hair as inspiration actually. It was so elegant and gorgeous! From what I could tell through the ustream video, when it was all put together, it looked amazing! I can't wait to hear more and see more pictures!!!! Congratulations again!!!
  7. nooooo I now have to work my budget AGAIN! I can't believe they took the sound system away. Thats actaully really lame. Most places offer that as an option. I'm kind of disappointed. My FI and I have bluetooth outdoor speakers (UE Boom) but I'm not sure that they would be loud enough Back to the drawing board...
  8. @@vancouverpetunia Your invitations look so good! I'm actually a bit jealous! I love the tropical flower on them and the color is amazing! I'm sure all of your guests will be sending you comments about them once you've sent them out. You are so ahead of schedule! Well done! Looks like you are getting everything on that checklist done! I'd say not to stress too much about the remaining to do things. You've still got 8 months and you can make it work. But thank you for the swimsuit shopping reminder! That totally slipped my mind that I should buy one now instead of in the winter when it will be double the price! :S
  9. Ah thats so wonderful! I love the MOH dress! Its so sleek and elegant! I think it will look great when all the bridesmaids are together! I'm sure your bridal party day on Sunday was lots of fun! I have still yet to see Magic Mike XXL! I should maybe watch that soon Your reception dress is also super adorable. I can see that suiting you! I'm sure it will be really easy and comfortable to dance in too so thats awesome! Congrats on the deal too!
  10. Wow! I've been away in Vancouver for a few days and I've missed so many updates! You have done so much! Everything looks amazing. I love the trash the dress dress that you purchased. That is such a steal! Well done on your thrifty shopping! Also the color of your shoes is absolutely amazing! I love it so much! and the hair pieces are so cute! They will look perfect! Can't wait to see more of your stuff coming together!
  11. I just watched your video on Ustream! You look absolutely amazing and the whole ceremony was breathtaking. Congratulations again!
  12. Happy wedding day!! I hope your wedding is everything and more that you dreamed of. Can't wait to hear all about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Congrats on getting your invitations out! Thats so exciting. Id say the next step would be just poking around getting ideas of how you want the whole thing to look and come together. If you plan on bringing decorations i'd say right now is the perfect time to look for a few odds and ends since it's summer and lots of summer decor items are starting to go on sale. I've also found if you look on your local facebook wedding swap and shop page a lot of brides who just got married this summer sell their decorations for pretty good prices on there. You can never plan too early I think! Better to be prepared!
  14. I love that cake topper! Its so cute and fitting for a beach reception! The jewelry is also really pretty and will look really gorgeous with your beautiful dress!
  15. Wow what a crazy story! At least it makes your special day even more memorable! I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end! Congrats!!!
  16. @@acw271011 That's awesome! I wish we were going to have something like that. We felt pressured by family and friends to host a party since so many people can't afford to come to Mexico with us. We are expecting over 70 people now to come to this reception. I've made it really clear on the wedding website that it will be beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres because I don't want people to expect a full sit down dinner and what not. Once we get a few more RSVP's back then I'll make a decision to go with the bigger hall. Hopefully the venue will allow us to upgrade.
  17. Oh wow! It looks like today was a very special day for you. Congratulations again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. @ thanks! I'm feeling ready for the destination wedding but I feel like I've got nothing planned for our at home reception. A lot of my decorations will be used for the at home reception and not the Mexico wedding because they are heavy and glass. So I'm somewhat okay with decorating the hall but that's about all I've got planned haha. Kyle still has to get his suit but he thinks he'll gain some muscle weight over the next couple months so he's leaving it last minute [emoji37] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Yay!! Congratulations on your legal ceremony!! So exciting and you look gorgeous for your special day! Not long till the Mexico wedding! Can't wait to hear more! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Some updates: I've been busy crafting up a storm. I've officially caught the bug haha. I'm trying to save as much money as possible on decorations (since I have 2 events to decorate: DW and AHR). I took some empty wine bottles and wrapped them in twine added some extra detail and I ended up really loving them. I will actually use them as decor around the house I think too! Next I got some more jars to jazz up with that rustic beach theme. I've actually done a bunch more and one that I put burlap on with little starfish all the way around (forgot to take a picture of it), I decided to try them out this weekend on the deck with some candles in them. Its really pretty and I think it will really set the mood for the AHR and make people feel like they are on the beach without being at the beach! I've also decorated an old fish bowl which I will put sand and seashells and starfish in with the candles. its really cute and has a little handle I made! Next task was a first attempt at Kyle's boutonniere! I think it actually turned out quite well and I'm excited to see what It'll look like on a suit jacket when he gets it (probably not for another 4 months haha). Lastly my FI's ring arrived!!! They told us it would take 6-8 weeks because it was a custom order to be in his size but it actually only took 6 days!! I couldn't believe it. We happened to be in the mall when I got the call saying it was in so I was able to pick it up right away! He's really happy with it and now that we both have our rings we are so ready to tie the knot!! Now I'm feeling pretty prepared for the DW but I'm really nervous for the AHR. Any brides who have done one do you have any advice? I really wanted it to be small and just a get together. We are planning on a cocktail party where I will wear my dress again and my FI will wear his suit. But considering we both didn't even want to do this and we are feeling obliged by family and friends who can't come to mexico it's starting to get to us. We booked a hall room that only holds 70 people and now I'm expecting over 70 people to attend and switching our reservation to the larger hall room will add on almost $700 more! All for something I didn't even want in the first place. It's getting stressful and adding a lot of money onto our budget that was unexpected My FI was ready to cancel it yesterday haha but it's a bit late for that considering we've sent out the invitations :S
